Guest guest
There is an interesting thread on another group about atmakarakas, and the discussion has got diverted there. I would like to know whether there is a karmic reason for atmakarakas being assigned to birth charts. What does Jupiter as AK signify? Kindly elucidate. Guest guest
Hi Malini Ji, I had collected vast infomation on Atmakaraka from different sites and sources, It's good to see, u have interest in same, Pls. find the detailed information here, I expect our elders will give their final touch when they are free. Reghards - Lalit. The Atmakaraka – It's more a concept of Sage Jaimini's system, Parashara also has something to mention about it, In the modern times, Astroogers has shown a tendency to mix both Gemini and Parashara's system, Which sometimes confuses the beginners like me. This is mostly popularized by Pt. Sanjay Rath's students. Ther are two beliefs a. 7 karaka belief b. 8 karaka belief Atma is the soul of the individual, and karaka is the significator, Naiskargika atmakaraka, or the natural significator is Surya, the sun. The sun plays a key role in our lives and for the total planet. In One's chart Atmakaraka is the planet that has advanced to the highest degree in any sign Eight karakas in order of decreasing degrees: Atma (Soul) Amatya (Intellect/Mind) Bhratri (Siblings) Matri (Mother) Pitru (Father) Putra (Children) Gnati (Collateral relatives) Dara (Spouse) Parasara says in the `kaarakaadhyaaya' in BPHS, the Atmakaraka is the most important planet and has a prime influence on the individual. Just as the king is the most famous among the men of his country and is the head of all affairs and is entitled to arrest and release all men, the Atmakaraka too is vested with the power to give auspicious or inauspicious results. Just as the minister cannot go against the king, the other Karakas, namely the Putrakaraka, Amatyakaraka etc. cannot prevail over the Atmakaraka. If the Atmakaraka is adverse, other Karakas too cannot give their benefic effects. Similarly, if Atmakaraka is favourable, other Karakas cannot predominate with their malefic influences. This unique power of the Atmakaraka in Jaimini methodology is somewhat akin to the role of the Moon in conventional Parasari system. If the Moon is afflicted, especially if he is Ksheenachandra (if he is within 24 degrees of the Sunin an applying aspect), even other planets cannot bestow the auspicious results which are otherwise indicated in the chart. But if the Moon is strong (full) and unafflicted the auspicious results indicated by other planets too manifest fully. That is why the Atmakaraka gets the highest strength in `Amsabala'. Following is a list of Planets as AtmaKaraka : Sun (Surya) –learn humility and to overcome pride and self importance.Moon ( Chandra, Soma) – learn the meaning of compassion, and the concern for others, as part of his/her spiritual progress. Mars (Mangala) – learn the meaning of ahimsa ( non-violence) as part of ones spiritual progress. Mercury (Buddha) - learn to speak with truth (sat-vak), speak to uplift others and meaningful speech. Jupiter (Brihaspati or Guru) – assume the role of protector. Learn to respect their own guru's/teacher's and the traditions. Key is responsibility. Venus ( Sukra)- Control the physical passions of excess.Saturn (Sani) –eliminate giving pain, grief or sorrow to others (compassion) Rahu – with Rahu , one may be inflicted with deception, or being cheated , yet the native cannot inflict deception to others. Being straight forward in personal dealings and forthright.Ketu – Ketu does not become an Atmakaraka – He is the significator of Moksha, and is beyond the realm of these actions above. Now, if the Atmakaraka is found in the following bhava's ( houses) the following is indicated, possible, or the potential is there: 1st House – Nobility , high attainments. The Lagna is a most auspicious house, the home of satya-pitha. The Sun ( Surya) is the karaka of the 1st house, and is a most auspicious Atmakaraka too. One with a Sun atmakaraka, the material world may be a challenge as one is pointed to the true purpose of ones incarnation, Self Realization, pending other conditions in the rasi chart. 2nd house – renunciation, spiritual pursuits are paramount. Lets say Saturn is there; is the karkaka of the 12th (moksha) house and indicates the path of the sadhu, sanyas, or great charity. With the influence of Venus and Ketu , one would be in yogic practices, or tapasya will be taken up. 3rd house – one may have many high social contacts ( government, business, etc). This position of the Atmakaraka has the potential of producing success, wealth and popularity. 4th house – This house works with the 10th from the AK's position, or the Lagna, and suggests the native's work/career/actions as an essential contribution to ones dharma in this life. That is, performance actions that support his/her dharma for this incarnation. 5th house – indicates a very truthful person, and follows ones dharma judiciously. This also produces the potential/possibility for sadhana, to meet and serve spiritualists/sadhus/gurus. Pending the strength of the Sun ( that natural karaka of the atman), blessings from guru, God, father and great people of the earth is possible. 6th house - challenges exist for the native from past actions. One may feel the constant pinch from Sani and not know why. That is, grief, minimum fruit from their actions, etc. 7th house – one will enjoy a good spousal relationship , as the 7th is owns relationships. This produces a compassionate individual with good intent. 8th house – results are similar to the 6th house position. The native may confront issues which are hard to solve or that are not easily traced back to the source point, due to coming from past actions one may not remember. It will be key to keep a truthful behavior during this life. 9th house – all blessings can exist for the native with the Atma in the 9th – house of bhagya (fortune). Yet this fortune is one of spiritual pursuits. If the sun influences the AK here, a raj-yoga is produced. If Brihaspiti (Jupiter) is strong in its influence, the potential of producing a guru is possible. What is interesting, the fortunes discussed, the native is not much for material possessions as an attachment. He/she is not compelled to collect and amass items, as there is little charm or hold on him/her. 10th house – happiness from home, family has been earned. Assets of property accrue. The strength and delivery of this promise or potential is indicated by Chandra ( karaka for mother, home, etc). 11th house – the house of courage and capability. The natives potential for intelligence, firmness ( resolved to accomplish the task at hand), and problem solving is indicated. If Mars ( courage karaka) is strong, a raj-yoga is indicated , and adds more weight to the native's qualities of this AK position. 12th house – The native is blessed by Laksmi-devi ( or punya, merit for fortunes). If others influence this position ( Brihaspiti, Sukra and/or Buddha), the blessings of Sri Saraswati, then knowledge is bestowed upon the native. Guest guest
Thanks Lalit, do you believe that malefic planets as AKs show higher spiritual prospects? If so, that's disappointing for those of us who have benefic planets as AK Vedic Astrologyandhealing , " litsol " <mishra.lalit wrote: > > > Hi Malini Ji, > > I had collected vast infomation on Atmakaraka from different sites and > sources, It's good to see, u have interest in same, Pls. find the > detailed information here, I expect our elders will give their final > touch when they are free. Guest guest
Hi Malini Ji, I started learning astrology to keep group's people in a bond, i like to see people are having some degee of afection and care for one another. As i knew, i m bit hyperactive, I can keep the group moving and this is my true nature. What i want to say is, Astrology and Spirituality is two completely different things, In spirituality, there is nothing comparative, no relative assessment, it's way to absolute Freedom of ur's self imposed negative restrictions. Get ur's freedom and then be careful, u have now not to impose any positive restrictions too, that's why we had sampradaayas like Aghora (A = No, Ghora = Hatred, Fearful etc.), Advaita ( A = No, Duaita = Dualism) they practised this only. So, if u want to enter into realm of spirituality, neve try to asses urself, otherwise, u wont be able to njoy the freedom. Astrology is a developing science, let it develop more ... I have experienced maximum possible divine truth in duality, the vision of the God, It's hardly seen in my chart, My chart maximum says, I m a nice or noble person coz of Hans Yoga formed by Jupitor in 10'th. Some software says my Atmakarak is Rahu, Some says my Atmakarka is Saturn. Let the astrology bother this, It's not my part to bother being a sadhaka. I can't be so weak. If One's atmakaarak is Jupitor, Means, he has to do some service to Guru's or Guru like people or Institutions or have to follow ethics, A kind true Guru will always take u to direction where u may feel ur's direct relation with the God. regards, Lalit. Guest guest
Hello Lalit, This is of course a discussion between you and Malini ji and i need not interfere. However What provoked me to intervene was ur statement that u r not so weak as to bother about astrology. This made me wonder whether u think that astrology is for the weak alone.Don't worry if u said so for u r in great company.Swami Vivekananda also said so.However i do not agree with Swami Ji and i have said so in many speeches i gave even in a place like Calcutta where Swami Ji belonged.According to me astrology is for the strong alone and not the weak. The weak run away from astrology because they cannot face negative predictions. It is a very strange thing that even ppl who are facing many problems in life do not like to be told about them by an astrologer.People generally want an astrologer to say that all great things will happen to them, they will become chairmen of their company, they will purchase a Mercedes, their married life will be the best, their children will be tennis champions etc even if they know in their heart of hearts that it cannot be so.Such a simple prediction as telling someone that he is prone to diabetes and should avoid sugar is not acceptable to ppl even though knowing this knowledge could be beneficial in the long run.I have seen ppl shivering in the face of true predictions. One of my cousins who is much brighter than me(u know him, Mr.Kaw)and has achieved much more in life than me could not learn astrology inspite of doing courses at Bhartiya Vidhya Bhavan becuase when he would read about something negative which was applicable to his horoscope he would start shivering in his pants. So my dear astrology is for the brave and not for the weak inspite of what Vivekananda said;though what could be said in the context of all this is that whatever is true its opposite is also always true.Regards RKVedic Astrologyandhealing , " litsol " <mishra.lalit wrote: > > Hi Malini Ji, > > I started learning astrology to keep group's people in a bond, i like > to see people are having some degee of afection and care for one > another. > > As i knew, i m bit hyperactive, I can keep the group moving and this > is my true nature. > > What i want to say is, Astrology and Spirituality is two completely > different things, In spirituality, there is nothing comparative, no > relative assessment, it's way to absolute Freedom of ur's self > imposed negative restrictions. Guest guest
Dear Malini, Sthira Atmakaraka is Sun. Jupiter that you refer to will be the chara Atmakaraka. this is decide by find the planet that has traversed most degrees in a rasi. There is a tendency to relate the AK to Karma, but then so are all the planets in the position they are due to previous life Karma. Chara Atmakaraka is equated to the King amongst planets, implying its primacy in modifying results.
