Being Kanya lagna,venus is 9th lord for you and rules ur

fortune.Also venus is placed in the 5th house of ur horoscope which is

a good house and that too in a friendly sign.Thus venus is benefic

both by ownership and placement in ur horoscope.Venus relates to white

color and therefore can be said to relate to cotton.Thus doing cotton

business should be OK for you.Moreover having jumped in cotton

business why create doubts about it by asking astrologers.Do ur karma

to the best of your ability.

As for ur querry about gems,i see that like a true number 8 person you

are rolling from one extreme to another.At one place u ask does

wearing gems just keep one's mind satisfied and at another place you

want to know whether wearing gems makes everything good.My answer is

neither.Have balance man.It is somewhere in between.Gems are known to

have some effect on the wearer but such effect is marginal like a

straw on the camel's back.You cannot expect that by wearing gems

everything will be OK.If it were so then u would have seen all top ppl

in the world wearing loads and loads of gems.But it is not so.Even the

old vedic astrology classics do not have more than a passing reference

to gems,which fact should tell you the extent of their importance.As

said above gems have some little effect on the wearer like a straw on
