Transits from Lagna

Various vedic astrology classics give the results of transits of

various planets from the moon alone and do not mention anything about

the transits from Lagna.However the fact remains that nowadays most

astrologers whether in the West or here look at transits from the

lagna also beisides the moon.In fact some astrologers go to the extent

that they totally ignore the transits from moon and see the transits

from Lagna alone.However not much literature is available in vedic

astrology books about the result of transits from Lagna.So i thought

let me place before the group whatever material i have collected about

the transits from Lagna.Let us start with the transits of Jupiter;-

1.Jupiter in the Lagna(first house):-The native will feel confident

and his efforts will yield good results.He may get a promotion in

office.The native's personal contacts and elderly patrons will bring

him benefit.Journeys made by the native will be gainful one way or the

other.Marraige of the native or birth of a child is possible.News from

children may be a source of happiness for the native.

2.Jupiter in the second:-The business of the native may expand and his

profession will be gainful causing marked increase in income.There may

be a new addition to the family.The native will derive happiness from

domestic celebrations.

3.Jupiter in the third house:-The native may get involved in

litigation.The native's brothers and elders will be favourably

disposed towards him and may help to further his cause.There could be

occasional anxiety.Health of self and spouse may be a cause of

concern.However the professional life will be favourable.

4.Jupiter in the 4th house:-Sudden gains are possible.The native will

be popular amongst acquaintances.His efforts will bear fruit.However

the general happiness of the native may be marred due to various

circumstances.The native may change the place of his job or

residence.He may also acquire a vehicle.Mother's health may need care.

5.Jupiter in the 5th house:-The native will feel confident to

undertake new ventures.His business may expand and he may establish

new beneficial contacts.There may be a rise in income and material

prosperity.The journeys will be fruitful.Marriage of the native or

birth of a child is possible.

6.Jupiter in the 6th house:-The working conditions of the native may

deteriorate and he may feel dejected.He may be victimised by

scandal.He may experience difference of opinion with acquaintances

leading to mental tension.He may be separated from family

members.There is the possiblity of an accident.The native could suffer

from ill health.He may change his place of residence.The native's

hardwork may not bring the desired results.

7.Jupiter in the 7th house:-The business of the native will expand.His

personal contacts with influential people will pay handsome

dividends.The native may undertake frequent journeys.There will be

fulfilment of most desires.

8.Jupiter in the 8th house:-The native may suffer from loss of money

through partnership deals.Hard work by the native will pay very little

dividends.The native may be separated from family members and get

involved in an accident.The native may get involved in litigation.His

health may not remain good.Jopurneys undertaken by the native will

prove to be troublesome.The native may develope interest in occult

sciences.

9.Jupiter in the 9th house:-The native will experience all round

success.There may be a promotion in office.The business ventures will

expand.He will feel inclined to undertake new ventures and schemes.The

native may acquire land or avehicle.He will feel fit

physically.Marraige or birth of child is possible.Journeys made by the

native will be fruitful.The native may become inclined towards

religion and may undergo piligrimages.He may donate towards charity.

10.Jupiter in the 10th house:-Hard work and special efforts made by

the native will bear dividends.There will be considerable improvement

in job conditions.The native may establish new beneficial contacts.He

may also establish a new source of income.The domestic life will be

happy and comfortable.There may be a change in the place of employment.

11.Jupiter in the 11th house:-The native will experience the

fulfilment of desires.He will find himself surrounded by a genial

atmosphere.His friends,brothers and asssociates will be favourably

disposed towards him and will bring him gains.The journeys will prove

beneficial.The native may acquire land or a vehicle.He may get married

or there may be the birth of a child in the family.

12.Jupiter in the 12th house:-The native may visit a foreign country

or come into contact with foreigners.He may have to incur heavy

expenses.May get involved in litigation.Weakening of finances is

possible causing mental tension.Ill health and accident to the native

is also possible.The native may develope interest in the occult

sciences or come into contact with spiritually inclined people.Spouse

may not keep good health.Domestic life will be unhappy.

Dear Rup,

As you know I too look at transits with reference to Lagna as in my

opinion, for what ever it is worth, Chandra ruling mind and Lagna

ruling the personality as a whole, transits from moon indicate more of

the state of mind regarding the indications of a particular bhava

whereas that from Lagna gives a fair indication of what is actually

going to happen at a physical level. I also prefer to interpret

transits from the natural and functional nature of planets and their

relative position to their own natal positions.

Of course this is my personal view and others can hold a different view.
