which happened a few weeks ago. It was August 16th late evening, one girl (who is related to me) called me and asked a Prashna, . She is the daughter of my cousine, and hence calls me uncle. She was pregnant and already completed 9 months of pregnancy, expecting delivery at any time. According to her, since the early morning of the 16th August, she was getting pains at delayed intervals of 3 to 4 hours. It was already 13 hours passed since she started getting these pains in delayed intervals, and she was very anxious as I could notice in her

voice. Her question was: "When will I deliver the baby? Is it going to be a normal delivery?" I immediately noted the time of the query and cast the chart for the Prashna. For quick prashnas, I use Dr BV Raman's Prashna Tantra, which is really very handy for me in all such occasions. For more complex analyses, I use Neelakantha Daivagna's Prashna Maarga. Here, since I noticed the anxiety in her voice, I just wanted to quickly look into the details. I knew it was not an ordinary query; for a womon ready to deliver the baby, an attempt to answer to such a

query should ideally give us answer in terms of so many hours. In Dr Raman's Prashna Tantra, the chapter on Child birth related queries, says, that the remaining navamsas of the lagna indicate the number of months still remaining and the proportion of remaining degrees within the navamsa compared to the navamasa degrees of 3 deg 20 min (considering one navamsa to indicate one month). indicate number of days yet to pass. Dr Raman also says that this calculation does not always gives correct value, as observed in real events. I told her that I would do a sincere

attempt to answer her query and looked at the lagna degrees left. Lagna was in the last degree of the sign, and it was Makara Lagna. Thank GOD and Thanks to the great science of astrology; I would have to be puzzled if it was not so. I quickly computed and found the answer as 43 hours. Though it was a sensible answer, still I was not convinced since her pains already started 13 hrs ago. Then I looked where the lagna lord Sani was. He was in Simha, with three other companious, Sukra, Budha and Kethu. Now I got the answer. See, the lagna lord Sani is afflicted in the 8th house indicating difficulty (due to

affliction and 8th house) and delay (due to Sani and also the 8th house). More over, Kethu is in the same house doing Satsang with lagna lord. Now, the fifth house, Vrishabha hosts Mars, and navamsa dispositor of 5th lord Sukra, is again Mars, who is in the 5th house. Due to this reason as well as the fact that Kethu is posited along with the lagna lord in the 8th house in the Rasi chart, I confirmed that she should undergo through C-section (In the US, cesarean operation is known as C-section). I gave her the following

prediction. She should deliver approximately 43 hours later (from the time she posed the query to me), which came to be around 3 PM on the 18th August. It will be a prolonged process of pains and finally she will deliver the baby through C-section. Since it was not so sweet prediction (with regards to the delay and difficult), I told it in very soft terms to her, and I conveyed the real meaning to her husband so that he can get prepared. exactly. ------------------------------ She delivered on the 18th August at 1:05 PM, after undergoing pains for another 41 hrs. The doctors tried for normal delivery until 12 PM on that day; but then finally decided to do C-section in order to save the baby as well as the mother. Even though the time of delivery was 2 hrs short of my prediction, the family members of the girl were stunned at the outcome of the prediction. I attribute that 2 hr error in my prediction to my incorrect calculation that was done in hurry. Her husband said

that the last one hour was really a hell-like experience for her, as the doctors tried till the last minute to do normal delivery. The doctors' reasoning for their failure to deliver normal, was that the boy's shoulders were wider than usual. It was unbelievable to me myself, that she underwent through 41+13 = 54 hours of labor pains to deliver the boy. Thank GOD, both the baby and the mother are doing well. These days I use Prashna tantra along with the natal horoscope to answer questions; but in this case I completely relied on the

Prashna tantra only; I did not look into her natal chart; because it is related to the actual time of delivery, which is comparatively easier using Prashna tantra. SO far, Prashna tantra gave me 100% accurate results. I think that it depends on the honesty and sincerity of the querent while asking the query.
