Here are more of my answers. Please forgive the multiple posts.

 

Q1: What are the primary combinations for heart disease? Which deity should

be worshipped to have a strong heart and hence, long life?

 

A1 The primary combinations for heart disease are affliction to the sun

simultaneously with affliction to the 4th house. Saturn effect on the 4th or

the Sun in particular has a constrictive effect as does Rahu, so they will

clog the arteries of the heart.

 

Affliction to the sign cancer by disease causing planets and malefics. The

5th house is also looked at for the heart. The second drekkana of the 5th

rules the heart.

 

Dual affliction by malefics to the 4th and 5th, with Sun weak in a trik

house, etc. will cause heart disease. Sun-Saturn combination is bad in the

4th. Sun in Capricorn or Aquarius in the 4th is likewise bad.

 

Jupiter will assist, if he has caused the person to become very fat.

 

A good example of heart disease is David Letterman’s chart. He had a

quadruple bypass surgery recently. The Sun goes into the 6th house with Mars

and Mercury. Saturn and Rahu aspect the 4th house. During the dasa of

Jupiter in maraka sthana, who disposits the Sun combination in the 6th, and

during the antar of Venus in the 5th, under the aspect of Saturn, he

suffered the heart attack.

The mantra given in the Rig Veda for heart protection is a prayer to the

Sun. So the Sun himself protects the heart, or Shiva, who is also the Sun.

 

Q2: Which deity is the natural protector of Dharma and is the Human being a

replica / created in the mould of this deity? What is the significance of

the three syllable mantra given in the Bhagavat Gita?

 

A2 The natural protector of dharma is Sri Vishnu. Vishnu is the sustainer in

the world, and in this way people are molded into his form, as they try and

sustain their life and strive for harmony.

 

Om Tat Sat is explained in the Gita. However for 3 syllables, it is AUM. The

gita indicates that it is from the Vedas. The 3 syllables of AUM are the

three facets of God, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and represents the 3 modes of

Rajas, Sattva and Tamas.

 

Q3. Why is the eastern horizon taken as the first house or Lagna? Why not

the mid-heaven or western horizon or any other sign?

 

A3 The Eastern horizon is taken as the first house as that is where the Sun

rises. Symbolically this is when the Soul enters into the visible world. At

sunset the soul is leaving the world.

 

At the zenith the Sun illuminates all things, but this reflects more upon

10th house affairs, as the Sun's position at its highest peak of

illumination causes maximum activity on the Earth, which is the domain of

the 10th.

 

Q4. Describe the physical attributes and looks of this actress.

 

A4 Beautiful actress indeed! She will look stately and have an aura of

importance, as the kshatriya Saggittarius rises, aspected by regal Sun. Agni

predominates making her brilliant and standing out in a crowd. Jupiter gives

a noble appearance, and a large and voluptuous body. The strong aspect of

Mercury gives good skin, and the Sun excellent bone structure.

 

The paka lagna is Libra the sign of beauty. This curbs the Saggitarian

tendency to put on weight, and gives delicate features to the face,

especially as Venus aspects her own sign. Venus gives beautiful eyes, lips

and structure.

 

There is no malefic influence on either the ascendant or pakalagna, giving

her a very beautiful and pure look.

 

Q5. List the types of food liked by the Navagraha and determine that

contribute good health. Is it better to become Vegetarian?

 

A5 Sun rules grains such as wheat. Moon milk, fruits, and rice. Jupiter

rules fruits. In general these planets rule vegetables, grains and fruits.

 

Mercury and Venus rule delicacies that excite the taste buds. Venus rules

citrus fruits like grapefruits and lemons, as well as sour apples.

 

Mars rules butchered animals, and Saturn rules dead things such as preserved

foods and meat. Rahu and ketu are like these. They also cause consumption of

alcohol, and food that is poisonous to the body or directly cause disease.

Meat has been found to create toxins in the body. It most frequently is the

cause of illness.

 

It is better to eat the vegetarian foods, as they are Sattvic in nature and

will act to purify the person.

 

The placement of malefics in the 2nd indicating consumption of unwholesome

food also leads the person to loss of wealth, and incurring karmas through

evil speech, as well as destroying the wife, family happiness, etc. Also as

the 2nd is a maraka house malefics become powerful to cause death.

 

The correlation here is that the person is associating malefic energies with

his body through the consumption of bad food. They accumulate in the prana

and body causing bad illnesses or death, and causing the verbal interaction

with people to be very negative due to negative thoughts and feelings from

the evil food.

 

Before performing mantras the mouth must be first cleansed with water, not

with meat, etc. That is because the mouth must be pure in order to speak

sacred words. This shows that in order to have proper communion with God,

what is consumed through the mouth should be pure.

 

Sattvic planets in the 2nd cause positive speech, truthfulness, and good

interaction with people, wealth, good family life etc. So being a vegetarian

is good, as it will have a benefic effect on these things.

 

Q6. A peculiar remedy for Bronchitis and Asthma in South India is the

swallowing of a single small fish stuffed with medicinal herbs during a

particular week of the year. Once consumed, this has been found to give

miraculous cure to the chronic patients of respiratory disorders. Why does

this happen?

 

A6 Bronchitis and lung diseases are caused by the affliction of Cancer with

Saturn or Rahu. This indicates sea dwelling (Cancer) animals (Saturn) being

the cure of these ailments.

 

Q7 Study BPHS Sloka’s 9-5 to 9-8, Sloka 9-11 and 9-15 to 9-24 and explain

the principle behind them.

 

A7 The principle behind these slokas is affliction to the Moon/lifeforce

causes death. Similarly affliction to the ascendant, 8th house or the Sun

will cause death. Death will be inflicted on the Mother or Father as well

depending on the affliction to the Moon or Sun.

 

Rahu's conjunction with the luminaries is especially bad as he eclipses

them, preventing their life giving influences from reaching the child.

 

The quadrants represent the body of the person, and with malefics there is

death.

 

The benefic planets bring the supportive energies into the person, and if

afflicted, they cannot give their protection and the child dies as a cause.

What little beneficence they may have left is made difficult to enter into

the chart due to retrogression, like water trying to flow through a twisted

hose. The affliction to the 5th house with malefics is affliction to the

maraka sthanas of the mother and brother.

 

The 12th house is the house of loss and planets here lose their life force.

The luminaries as the primary indicators of life are worst here, Venus is

the giver of life being the most powerful benefic and the Mrityunjaya

mantra. Rahu here aspects the ascendant, 6th and 8th house, while giving the

results of the 12th house of loss of body. Aspect of these planets on the

12th give it life. (Rahu?)

 

Planets in the Eastern half of the chart enclose the ascendant, malefics

here without benefics will do damage.

 

Q8 Study BPHS Sloka’s 10-6 to 10-9 and explain the principle behind them.

 

A8 Sun as the 11th lord for Libra is the strongest planet to cause evil,

and in the 12th loses this ability. Sun is also the planet most inimical to

Libra, as he becomes debilitated there. So his weakness is good for this

ascendant.

 

Jupiter brings life to Mars the fixed significator of mother.

 

Malefics along the 4/10th axis become marakas for the father, as they are

the 2nd/8th from the 9th house of father, just like malefics in the 5th for

mother. Malefics surrounded by benefics are prevented from emiting their bad

qualities, likewise benefics hemmed by malefics cannot deliver their good

results.

 

Benefics in quadrants and trines support the ascendant.
