Dear Shri Ramani,

I have learnt Traditional Astrology from books written by Mr.B.V.Raman,and also practised the traditional method as well as Ashtakavarga, and Sarva Ashtakavarga methods since 1960....but eventually I gave up Astrology totally,so disappointed was I, with the inaccuracy of Traditional Astrology, till very fortunately, I happenned to attend a 3-day lecture-demonstration by Mr. K.S.Krishnamurthi,

of his new "invention" called Krishnamurthi Padhdhati,at Bhopal in the early 70's and decided to become his disciple at once...I then studied K.P., and after many years of practise, almost on a daily basis,I began stunning my friends and colleagues at my Office with the accuracy of my Horary predictions...sometimes undertaken only with the help of RULING PLANETS at the Time of Judgement...

My studying and practising Traditional Astrology, however has helped me gain a sound and detailed knowledge of the nature and properties of Planets etc...and thus making the switch to K.P., was that much more easy...remember that we had to,in those days work manually, without the help of computers...solid back-breaking hard work indeed... !

I am thus thankful to have had the oppprtunity to study Traditional Astrology...from one of my Astrologer uncles also was also extremely kind to gift me his collection of old Classical TextBooks like Saravali,Brihat Jataka and several more ancient texts...but which I now have on my computer, thanks to Mr.Punit Panday...who had put them on the Internet...(English version only)...

I have thus a fair bit of experience with Ashtakavarga Charts...although not in Mundane Astrology...then quite low on my personal priorities...

I wish however, to record my personal dis-satisfaction with the accuracy and inconsistency of the results using the Ashtakavarga method...hence the above...

With kind regards,

L.Y.Rao.

GOOD LUCK !

Dear Shri Deshpande,

Ashtakavarga system is a branch in traditional astrology in which each planet gets maximum No. of 8 dots according to its position in a Rasi. For this you have to gain knowledge in traditional astrology. This is not in KP system. Even for gaining experrience in KP Astrology,

you require sufficient knowledg of traditional astrology too,

as KP system is emanated from traditional astrlogy with

some improvement for pin=pointing the events. You may get B.V. Raman's.books of (Bangalore Astrological Institute) which will give you good knowledge of traditional astrology.

With best wishes,

K.S.V.Ramani

Benefic dots

Dear Members,I am a new member of this forum. Recently, I came across some words like " benefic dots " What does it mean ? I have been learning K.P. from Marathi books. These words are totally new to me. It is quite possible that I have already learnt it in Marathi but don't know that it is called " benefic dots " in English. A similar thing happened recently. For "Mahadasha & its parts" what we call in Marathi & what we call in Enlish is different & can creat confusion. Luckily my doubts were cleared by some senior members.I request all senior members to help me. Please let me know what exactly it is & how does it work. If there is any big theory behind it (which can't be given in this forum due to its big volume) pl give me details of books which can help me.Thanks & regards.Vishram Deshpande
