Guest guest
Dear Friends, The Badhaka and Maraka houses are considired only as the 2nd or 7th or 9 th or 11th sign from the Asc.,or the House or the Cusp where it falls? If it is only the sign counted from the Asc., the 2,7,9,11 signficators are taken as per KP only the houses and not on the signs. For example, for Virgo Ascendant, Jupiter is the Badaka (and also Maraka lord) as the Lord of 7. Suupose in the chart the 7 Cusp falls in Aquarius, Jupiter will not signfy 7 as the lordship. only Saturn will signfy. Hence who is Badaka Lord , Saturn or Jupiter? As per KP saturn being the owner of 7th Cusp may act as Badaka lord through its signfications for the Virgo Asc. If so, in the above case, the planets in the star of Sat will signfy 7 which we call it as Badaka house. hence Badaka is signfied by Saturn being the 7th Cuspal Lord. Can you through some more light on the above.? Thanks and Regards Adith

Guest guest
Dear Adith, Your example for selected house is confusing. Any house if you take it's 7th house is 180 deg away which is going to be the opposite sign of the cusp which you have considered. The example is not logical here. But the word "suppose" tells us that it is assumed for discussion purpose only. In such case you may take any house but don't link with it's 7th house instead may give other nearby cusp for discussion. I feel that you may be trying to say something later based on member's reply which i don't know and the above is my suggestion only. GOOD LUCK! Guest guest
Dear Members (Dr. Sheetl ji, M/s. Tinwin ji, Adith ji, Dr. Ruth ji) I have gone thru the 4 messages on this topic. Regarding Bhadhaka in KP Placidus House division is to be invariably followed. Wherein cuspal interception would also come into play int he case borders of Ascendant. However in case of Dual signs Lagna Asc. Deg is also opposite 7th House degree hence any joining of cusp 2nd or 12th does not change the 7th cusp position hence automatically no change with reard to Bhadhaka Cusp/ 7th Maraka cusp. (Sri Dhanabalan's chart wherein Sagi I cusp and also XII cusp opposite to this Gem VII and VI cusps are thre hence Mercury did not changed from his bhadhaka) But in case of Moveable 11th house may shift to anticlockwise to 10th Sign, or 11th Sign. e.g in case Libra 11th may fall in Virgo hence Mercury is bhadhaka instead Sun. In case of Fixed Asc. also 9th house may shift clock or anticlock in both cases the Bhadhaka shifts. But in all cases 7th Maraka will not shift in Placidius also. Guest guest
Dear Sri Adhit ji, For Any lagna whether it is Aries to Pisces the Asc. degree plus 180deg. is the 7th cusp it will not move to next Sign even in clockwise or anticlockwise due to cuspal interceiption. But as u said if both cusps I n II are in one Rasi then the sign lord would be automatically becomes 2nd cusp lord Maraka (Just see in natural Zodiac this position comes to Capricorn wherein 2nd cusp Auqa Saturn becomes 2nd lord also) In this type of situations the 2nd is Maraka and Ascendant is 12th to 2nd hence negatives the effect and ultimately I House rules supreme he will not have any Maraka due to Lagnesh. In all the Ascendants cusps I n II may fall in one Sign/Rasi then the Lord of the Rasi would get 2 lordships (sometimes third lordship because except Sun/Moon all other 5 planets having lordship of one more Sign) plus 1 bonus cuspal lordship in such cases the third lordship would change the role of Lagnesh. e.g. Aries, (1n2 cusps) then automatically Libra gets 7n8 lordships, the remaining Scorpio may get a chance of 9th lordship due to cuspal interception. In this case if 9th is not there due to clock wise cuspal interceiption then Lagnesh is powerful in giving results, but if 9th is in scorpio then 9th is favourable for Moveable Ascendant as Last Highest Kona apart from 5th gives good results. Guest guest
Dear Sri Kasinath ji, In normaly condition this may shift (bhadhaka) to another cusp due cuspal interception on border line Ascendants. But one thing we have to see alwsy the VII is 180deg away from the opposite cusp. i.e. I cusp say 29deg. Aries then Libra 29deg. 7th soalso for Virgo 1deg then Pisc 1deg is VII cusp bhadhaka Jupiter but it will not shift to Aqua Saturn in cases of Dual signs only why becaz Bhadhaka is 7th cusp lord itself hence no difference in Vedic or Placidus system. Only in case of Moveables 11th cusp may shift, Fixed 9th cusp bhadhaka may shift not in case of Dual Signs. hence Gem/Vir Jupiter bhadhaka and vice verse. Guest guest
Dear Friends, 1. The Jataka Parijata originated Badhaka and well known 2,7 Maraka concepts are originally Rasi-sign based but in the Placidus house applied KP, it is jsut to follow what the Placidus cusps show, nothing else. 2. The problem appears when two or four signs are intercepted (sign with any cusp falling there)and pl see the practical application in the examples (with intercepted signs)in the books of Guruji KSK, Bhatt, K. Hariharan, Khullar etc. 3. Seeing is believing and no doubt, no confusion at all. Guest guest
Dear Sri Ravishankar, In normal practice as per equal house division Vedic the sign lord is bhadhaka lord (Movebale 11, Fixed 9, Dual 7) this is as per Jaimini Maharashi. The same was extended in KP as the cuspal lord thru placidius house system. Hence the the concern Cuspal Lord is Bhadhaka and who ever in his stars they are strong, Bhadhaka Occupant and planets in his star are also more powerful in offering Bhadhaka Results. Upto now this principle is used for Longevity only. In muhurat also by Sri Kanak Bosmia bhdhaka lord of movebale signs happens to be 11th labha lord hence skipped moveable ascendants for Muhurat. There is a Research paper during Dec. 2008 in KPAForum Hyderabd in its International Summit held at Hyderabad by Sri Rajendra Nimje, IAS. Regarding the most important question of Bhadhaka Cuspal Sublord what his position. This CSL is under testing on a number of charts whether it plays a role thru its a planet who is in its star. On this lot discussions are there, still is under pipeline. In some cases the bhdhaka cusp sublord is creating problems not in all. We have yet to establish some rules on this line. Till then cuspal Sign Lord is Bhadhaka. Guest guest
Dear OVN MurthyJiThanks for your detailed explanation.I do accept all our points. My selection of example as Senthil ji pointed out was not correct on the 7th Lord, as it will not change for both the systems. It happened on oversight. I regret. My idea was to have the opinion of our members on this topic. Th example must be 9 or 11 as you said. But it is accepted by all that it is based on the placidus system only. With RegardsAdith On Sun, Oct 11, 2009 at 7:31 PM, murthyovn <ovnmurthy wrote: Dear Sri Kasinath ji, In normaly condition this may shift (bhadhaka) to another cusp due cuspal interception on border line Ascendants. Guest guest
Dear Adithji, What ever was discussed was only theoretical. Practically, when you consider 7th house, the house will always fall in the opposite sign. For Aries Ascendant it falls in Libra; For Gemini Ascendant it falls in Sagittarius and thus for Virgo Ascendant it always falls in Pisces. Hence for Virgo borns the Maraka and Badaka lord shall always be Jupiter only. Dr. Rath adith kasinath.g.k <gkadithkasinath Sent: Sun, October 11, 2009 1:43:55 PMRe: Re: Badhaka and Maraka Houses and Lords Dear Twji Thanks for your confirmation. Suppose both the Asc., and the 2nd Cusp falls in one sign, the Asc. lord (or the planets in its star) will be become Maraka.! Suppose for Aries Asc., if 7th Cusp falls in Scorpio, Mars the Lagna lord will be the Maraka lord also.! Or being Asc. lord, is there any exceptions ? Can you pls advise ? Guest guest
Dear Dr.Rath ji, You are obsultely right. I have taken the 7th cusp just for the theoritcal discussion only. The main objective is about the Badaka and Maraka Lordship during the cuspal interceptions. Guest guest
Dear Adith ji,I agree with Dr. Sheetal. 7th cusp is exactly opposite Lagna cusp.So for Virgo Lagna 7th cusp will always be in Pisces and thereforeJupitaer will always be maraka and badhaka lord.Subhash Ektareadith kasinath.g.k <gkadithkasinath Sent: Sun, October 11, 2009 10:26:19 AMRe: Badhaka and Maraka Houses and Lords Dear Dr.Sheetal, Tw ji and Dr.Rath have given thier confirmation that Saturn is the Badaka Lord being the owner of 7th Cusp. Traditionally if we consider. for Virgo sign, Jupiter is the only Badaka/Maraka Lord and Venus though 2nd Lord (maraka) but being 9th Lord, it is not considered as Maraka. But in KP as we calculate based on Placidius system, it changes based on the cuspal positions. Or Do we have to still keep an eye on Jupiter for Badaka results ? Guest guest
Dear Subhash Ektare ji,Yes. I agree. He is correct. Of course as Dr.Rath ji said, it was taken theoretically but practically it was wrong for 7th Lord. The actual discussion I thought was on the selection of Badaka or Maraka Lord in the cuspal interception. The example I chose as 7 was incorrect. It must be 9 or 11. This I expressed in previous mails.
