Dear Arti,

 

[ 1 ] Yes you can use Ganga jal instead of rain water.

[ 2 ] Yes you can use a rectangular silver piece.

[ 3 ] Getting a house painted doesn't matter. Yes renovating the

roof alone could adversely affect the Rahu. But the upaya I had

suggested will help control the Rahu.
