Dear Chandrashekarji, Jyotish is spoken of as the 'Chakshu' of the Vedanga. Varahamihira has spoken of the qualifications of a Jyotishi very eloquently. It is sad that Jyotish has become a tool for selfaggrandisement in the present times However.there are still some genuine Jyotishis who practice Jyotish as a Sadhana and these select few keep the flame of Jyotish burning bright !!
