Bad house, best position

Dear Members:

I came across two observations in the 'duhsthana thread' we are currently pursuing. One says Ju in 6th will not be totally blesmished. The other says the best Grah to occupy this (8th) house is a debilitated Malefic.

The baseline of phalit rules is that houses 6,8 and 12 are obstructive, distortionary, deformative if not outright destructive. Outright destruction of phal will requires abetment of other factors. The significations which a planet brings with it when it is in such a house will not play out well, to say the least. We have to spell out what of Ju will not be blemished and what of it will be blemished.

The other baseline rule is, a debilitated or a malefi or both (which is worse) will pull down a house where it goes. In 8th such a planet will not do great favour to life span; and given other life-lengthening horoscopic factors, the planet in its 'time run' will bring about deathlike situations (praNasankat). Is that, then, the best position?

The eighth is a valuable house! Better than the 11th, 6th, and even 3rd.
