Dear Aavesh,The post `gems and astrology' is itself a gem of a write-up. However.

What Alok Jagawat, the wearer of the perfect blue apphire, describes as "Unlike whatever is been mentioned in classics, I had a totally different experience" needs an explainer.

The cool currents are but what the classics call `Shushumna-vahini prana' and the spinal meridians are the theatres of those sensations ("cold sensation" is not quite it). The `ice on head' part of the experience is but the clue that the narrator in his chart has Saturn (blue sapphire) as lord of the ninth house and/or is near that house. As for the yellow hue etc, that suggests that our vision of the world has been purified; we can now relate to people without any vikaar in our mind; so we see yellow aura around people we meet. The narrator underwent the experience of kundalini, most probably as his horoscopic Saturn (its effect, ie) got enhanced on wearinf the gem, because of its appropriate portfolio.

With another benefic's having to do with the houses surrounding the ninth house (ie, with 9th, 8th, 10th), the subperiod of Satrun, when in one of these houses, can impart one a kundalnini experience of the `ice on head' kind. Satrun-mediated kundlini flavour can be extra-cool. Sushumna-borne praana is ever cool, dull never, and can't be hot. That's Pingala's work.

I might add a word for those who know this praana vidya and those who may have some degree of such exalted pranic play in their body and mind. The `sandarshan' can take place without a gem's aid. (There can be other horoscopic circumstances that can lead to similar experience, though.)
