Respected Sir,

 

Consider a case of Cancer Ascendant.

 

a) Related to Jupiter--- (i) Jupiter is the lord of 6th as well as 9th, (ii) the

mooltrikona sign of Jupiter lies in the 6th house (so 6th house is more

effective for Jupiter as a lord), (iii) Jupiter is not the enemy of the

ascendant lord (Moon).

 

So if we consider all the 3 above points, the Jupiter should be ‘Neutral’ in

this case (This is my opinion).

But Dr. Raman says it as a functional benefic and Dr. Shrimali as functional

malefic.

 

What do you say, sir?

 

b) Related to Saturn--- (i) Lord of the 7th (Kendradhipati) and the lord of 8th,

(ii) Mooltrikona sign lies in the 8th house (so 8th house is more effective for

Saturn as a lord), (iii) Enemy of the Ascendant lord.

 

So according to me, Saturn should be the functional malefic in this case.

But Dr. Raman as well as Dr. Shrimali identify it as ‘Neutral’.

 

Please guide me.

Dear Saurabh,

 

In the Cancer lagna case cited, Jupiter is more of a functional malefic

than benefic, per Parashara. I think in its period the 1st half of

dasha will not be good whereas the second half will be good.

 

Saturn, in my opinion, is certainly functional malefic.
