Respected Sir,

 

 

Consider the case of Mercury in Libra Ascendant.

 

My Observations---

 

(i) Mercury is the lord of 9th as well as 12th,

(ii) The mooltrikona sign of Mercury lies in the 12th house (so 12th house is

more effective for Mercury as a lord),

(iii) Mercury is not the enemy of the ascendant lord (Venus).

 

As you told us that the functional maleficance of the 12th lord depends on its

position in the horoscope. If the 12th lord is present in a trine (trikona)

house, it wouldn’t be functional malefic. But in other houses, it would

definitely be functional malefic.

 

*** Some books refer the 12th lord as ‘a little bit functional malefic’.

 

 

My Queries---

 

a) Suppose the Mercury is present in a quadrant (not in a trine) in the Libra

ascendant, would it be the functional malefic here?

 

If we consider above three points (My Observations), according to me it should

be functional ‘neutral’ in totality.

 

*** But I am sure that the first half of the dasha of Mercury would provide very

good results and the second half would not be good (losses).
