A Day to pay tribute to all Rishis , Saints, Teachers , Priests , Philosophers and Guides. A Day to remember all those Great Souls Who heard ( Sruthi )The Primordial Knowledge – Veda Who remembered ( Smruthi ) The Veda they heard And those who passed on Veda by word of mouth. Guru is Brahma , who creates an environment conducive to learning and plants the seed of knowledge. Guru is Vishnu , who nurtures and sustains the tree of knowledge. Guru is Siva , who destroys ignorance . Guru is The Absolute Truth. Guru is Hayagreeva , Datthaathreya , Medha DakshiNamoorthy , Krishna Guru is Aathreya , Vasishtta , Viswaamithra and Veda Vyaasa Guru is Mother , Father and Teacher . Hence let us all pay obeisance to Guru – Thasmai Sri Gurubhyo Namah .
