Dear and list members,

Indeed, slowly but surely, we are gaining further insight into the

SAMVA USA chart. It has never failed in explaining the events.

Let me share one insight in this regard. One of my earliest efforts

at predicting based on the SAMVA USA chart was for the stock market

to correct in early 2007. While it is hard to make a point

prediction, I ventured the correction could be as great as 15%. This

prediction was based on e.g. the long standing affliction of transit

Ketu at 24° Leo and 2nd house to natal Venus as 4th lord of communal

harmony and fixed assets, including housing, in the first part of the

year. What we did see, was a correction in share prices as the sub-

prime loan crisis erupted in late February 2007. The Dow Jones Index

dropped 6% from the peak of 12783 on February 21 to the trough of

12051 on March 6th. What is more, this problem then went on to throw

the global financial market into turmoil for the remainder of the

year. The crisis has not gone away, even if the authorities have

reduced interest rates aggressively and injected funds into the

banking system and restored confidence by saving Bear Sterns bank. On

the upside the Dow is not at 12621, which is only 1% under the pre-

crisis value. However, interbank lending is still minimal as the

banks hoard liquidity due to their uncertainty about their funding

needs going forward and the counterparty risk. Hence, while the banks

continue to lend to firms and households, they are wary of lending

each other. So, the situation concerning the hundereds of billions of

dollars that have been lost due to this crisis have not been resolved

and will likely continue to hamper economic growth going forward. If

there was a problem with the prediction, it was therefore not some

failure in the chart itself. Far from it. Any problem is due to a

misreading of the exact nature of the transit influences. Indeed, an

affliction to such a weak and badly placed planet ruling the housing

sector and linked to financial stability (or lack thereof), should be

expected to result in some setbacks or losses adversely affecting the

financial market. This is precisely what happened. More so, as the

dispositor of Venus is the 6th lord Jupiter, ruler of financial

stability and at that time, Jupiter was in the 5th house of the chart

where it was also being transit afflicted by natal 8th lord Saturn

there, creating problems for financial stability. In turn Jupiter was

aspecting transit Saturn in the 1st house and natal Saturn. Hence,

this signaled obstructions to " easy gains " . As Saturn was also

aspecting natal 2nd lord Sun in the 7th house, the wealth of the

country also came under strain. The problem was thus that the

transits undermined the financial stability in the country, linked to

losses in the housing market. In retrospect I would have liked the

prediction to focus more on the housing market than it did. The focus

was more on the share prices. In this case, the market fell, but not

by as much as I suggested could happen. That said, the severity of

the crisis has now been well documented and we are lucky that the

share prices did not fall by more. What has been critical has been

the response of the authorities to inject funds into the banking

system and to inject money also to the households. This has helped to

stem the erosion of confidence in the markets, that otherwise could

have resulted. In any event, we can learn from the chart while

following the events. What a magnificent fit the chart gives with the

events!

Over time, the increased knowledge of the basic properties of the

SAMVA USA chart is enabling us to make more and better focused

predictions. That is the real contribution of the SAMVA USA chart to

mundane astrology.

Best wishes,

Thor

Dear Vyas,

How right you are. The value of SA shines forth undiminished when working with an authentic chart, whether for an individual or nation. Of course, the problem of ascertaining the authentic mundane chart is often times much harder to ascertain than I ever dared imagine. When I began this journey some ten years ago, I daresay that I would perhaps have paused to dive into this field if I had known the effort and time it would take for the fruits of the effort to become ripe! Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to learn from a real master in astrology, our dear Profeesor Choudhry. I consider myself very blessed in that respect. And now that I am here, having made this much progress, there is a good deal of a sense of satisfaction. Of course, I would like more astrologers to recognise the value of SA in the mundane sphere, but it will happen. In this

regard, the value of SAMVA list to share such insights in indispensible. I am confident more list members will make use of it in the future when they see what is possible to do.

Best wishes,

Predictions based on SAMVA USA chart [Was: Phoenix...]

Dear and list members,Indeed, slowly but surely, we are gaining further insight into the SAMVA USA chart. It has never failed in explaining the events. Let me share one insight in this regard. One of my earliest efforts at predicting based on the SAMVA USA chart was for the stock market to correct in early 2007. While it is hard to make a point prediction, I ventured the correction could be as great as 15%. This prediction was based on e.g. the long standing affliction of transit Ketu at 24° Leo and 2nd house to natal Venus as 4th lord of communal harmony and fixed assets, including housing, in the first part of the year. What we did see, was a correction in share prices as the sub-prime loan crisis erupted in late February 2007. The Dow Jones Index dropped 6% from the peak of 12783 on February 21 to the trough of 12051 on March 6th. What is more, this problem then went on to throw the global financial market into turmoil for the remainder of the year. The crisis has not gone away, even if the authorities have reduced interest rates aggressively and injected funds into the banking system and restored confidence by saving Bear Sterns bank. On the upside the Dow is not at 12621, which is only 1% under the pre-crisis value. However, interbank lending is still minimal as the banks hoard liquidity due to their uncertainty about their funding needs going forward and the counterparty risk. Hence, while the banks continue to lend to firms and households, they are wary of lending each other. So, the situation concerning the hundereds of billions of dollars that have been lost due to this crisis have not been resolved and will likely continue to hamper economic growth going forward. If there was a problem with the prediction, it was therefore not some failure in the chart itself. Far from it. Any problem is due to a misreading of the exact nature of the transit influences. Indeed, an affliction to such a weak and badly placed planet ruling the housing sector and linked to financial stability (or lack thereof), should be expected to result in some setbacks or losses adversely affecting the financial market. This is precisely what happened. More so, as the dispositor of Venus is the 6th lord Jupiter, ruler of financial stability and at that time, Jupiter was in the 5th house of the chart where it was also being transit afflicted by natal 8th lord Saturn there, creating problems for financial stability. In turn Jupiter was aspecting transit Saturn in the 1st house and natal Saturn. Hence, this signaled obstructions to "easy gains". As Saturn was also aspecting natal 2nd lord Sun in the 7th house, the wealth of the country also came under strain. The problem was thus that the transits undermined the financial stability in the country, linked to losses in the housing market. In retrospect I would have liked the prediction to focus more on the housing market than it did. The focus was more on the share prices. In this case, the market fell, but not by as much as I suggested could happen. That said, the severity of the crisis has now been well documented and we are lucky that the share prices did not fall by more. What has been critical has been the response of the authorities to inject funds into the banking system and to inject money also to the households. This has helped to stem the erosion of confidence in the markets, that otherwise could have resulted. In any event, we can learn from the chart while following the events. What a magnificent fit the chart gives with the events!Over time, the increased knowledge of the basic properties of the SAMVA USA chart is enabling us to make more and better focused predictions. That is the real contribution of the SAMVA USA chart to mundane astrology. My dear ,

You are right.

This was just some rumination about my own understanding.

Of course, your own prediction was precise from the beginning.

"In the recently proposed US chart for the 2nd February, 1781, 1705 hours, the transit influences show severe afflictions during middle of March, 2007, to early May, 2007, indicating lot of controversies, emotional involvement of the people in controvercial issues, financial/market setbacks, fatal/serious accidents, weather vagaries/disturbances, setbacks in war fields, etc."

Best wishes,

Thor
