Oil prices have also spiked, adding to such concerns. The rise of the oil prices has been linked to a weaker US dollar and heightened geopolitical risks*. The inverse relationship of the dollar exchange rate and the dollar denominated oil price has been noted by many commentators: when the dollar becomes weaker, the oil prices rises.
