Guest guest
Dear David, Thanks for your kind words, which are highly appreciated. After a multi-year quest, the preponderance of the evidience, historical and astrological, is finally coming together in an authentic chart for the USA - the SAMVA USA chart (Perpetual Union). It may take some time for the sceptics to come around to this chart, given the many firmly held views on a wide range of charts, but we can hope that now that the historical case for the chart has been made, with valued contributions from John TWB, and it has been thoroughly tested with predictions, others will increasingly come around to it. Importantly, an authentic mundane chart is yet another medium to show the value of SA as a consistent system of astrology. Finally, praise be to our teacher, , on this GURU PURNIMA day for all his tireless efforts to guide our work in this challenging but rewarding field. To him goes the greatest credit. Guest guest
Dear friends, I have added the following footnote in the article WHAT EVENT GAVE BIRTH TO THE USA? Footnotes[1] Interestingly, the symbolism in the design of the US flag is consitent with the twofold nature of the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union as the nation's new constitution and formation of its union. On June 14, 1777, in order to establish an official flag for the new nation, the Continental Congress passed the first Flag Act: "Resolved, That the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation." This fact, so emblazoned in the nation's ultimate symbol, reveals fully the great importance the founders attributed to the formation of the Union. In this regard, we should keep in mind that the process of legally establishing the Union was started on June 12, 1776 and completed on February 2, 1781 by the ratification of Maryland as the 13th and final state to do so. Guest guest
Dear Thor,A most excellent clarification. The Articles of Confederation were in governing force from March 1781 until March 1789. Consider the analogy of NASA rocketry: the ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION, the booster rocket, dropped away in 1789, leaving the USA module to continue in perpetual orbit, powered by second rocket. The Perpetual Union of February 2, 1781, the "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", has been governed since 1789 by the nation's second constitution, the "CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". [This title, as embedded in the longer text of the preamble to this second constitution.]Thanks,John--- On Fri, 8/8/08, Cosmologer <cosmologer wrote: Cosmologer <cosmologerRe: Blog: WHAT EVENT GAVE BIRTH TO THE USA?SAMVA Date: Friday, August 8, 2008, 10:02 AM Dear friends, I have added the following footnote in the article WHAT EVENT GAVE BIRTH TO THE USA? Guest guest
Dear John, What a fitting metaphor! Looking back, this ongoing research has developed along two tracks. The first pillar is the accumulating circumstantial historical evdidence that has been unearthed. It is helping to develop and cement a strong historical case for the birth of the USA having taken place with the legal formation of the union. The second pillar is the astrological research with the Systems' Approach into the natal potential of this event, the dynamics behind historical events and predictions. All of this work is offering a splendid confirmation of the SAMVA USA chart (Perpetual Union). Thanks for your important contributions! Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Thank you for the kind words. Now that we have the SAMVA USA chart (Perpetual Union), hopefully more and more astrologers will make use of it. In my work on SAMVA I am trying to show how easy it is to make accurate predictions by applying the Systems' Approach with a focus on major transit events. In fact, any dedicated SA astrologer can begin to make a name for him- or herself simply by doing simply that.
