Dear Jorge,Nice to see you post.Thank you for the proposal to change the 'location' of the SAMVA USA chart to Philadelphia, arguably the capitol of the new union. Keeping to the 20 degree ascendant, we only see a slight change in the placement of the Moon, from 7:24 to 7:20 and some days in the dasa/bukhti sequence. I have earlier thought about this but hadn't made up my mind on it.If John TWB can confirm the capitol status and agrees with the location, we can make the change permanent in the chart. Dear John, , Jorge and list members,

 

Thank you for the detailed information, John. It is very helpful.

 

My prevarication on this issue has concerned the fact that the USA became a

Union on Feb. 2, 1781. Until that time things seemed to be rather unsettled as

regards a formal government.I was therefore content to use Annapolis where the

event took place. However, as Philadelphia was being used as the place for the

Congress of the 13 states and the Union belonged to all of them, a case could

also be made to use this city for the SAMVA USA chart. Ultimately, the decision

did not feel pressing as the astrological dynamics remain for the greatest part

unchanged.

 

The fact that you consider the city as the basis of their government at that

time makes the decision easy with regard to the history.

 

Also, as finds this location theoretically acceptable, and it

is in line with earlier treatment of e.g. IPO charts, we will from now on use

Philadelphia as the city for this chart.

 

Finally, thanks to Jorge. Angelino for prompting this timely discussion and

decision, thereby becoming a participant in the evolution of the SAMVA USA

chart.
