Russia - Georgia war over South Ossetia and

Dear friends,

 

The war that has broken out on Friday between Russia and Georgia, with the invasion of Russia into disputed provinces of Georgia - South Ossetia and Abkhazia - seems to be escalating. This conflict, which dates back to the break-up of the Soviet Union and before that the inclusion of Georgia into the Soviet Union in the early 1920s, is now seen to be posing a major threat to the stability of the region. I attach two potential charts for Georgia.

In the Book of World Horoscopes, by Nicholas Campion the following information is given for Georgia:

 

The independence of Georgia was proclaimed by the national Diet (parliament) meeting in the Capital, Tbilisi, on 26 May 1918. No time is given. To this day, Georgia celebrates May 26 as their independence day. I have cast the chart with 11:00 am and 22° 41' Cancer rising. Natally, 6th lord JUPITER of conflict at 26° Taurus and 11th house afflicts the 11th house (of ideals and income), 3rd house (of internal communication), 5th house (of internal relations) and 7th house (of foreign relations).

 

At the outbreak of the war,

- Jupiter-Saturn period is operating

- natal 2nd lord SUN at 12° Taurus and 11th house was afflicted by transit 8th lord SATURN at 14° Leo and 2nd house

- transit SUN at 22° Cancer and 1st house was conjunct transit KETU at 24° 35' Cancer

- transit 6th lord JUPITER at 20° Sagittarius and 6th house was afflicting 10th house (of the executive), 12th house (of foreign countries) and 2nd house (of status, wealth and neighboring countries).

 

This chart seems to have some potential to explain this event. Moreover, the applying aspect of transit JUPITER to transit SATURN suggests the situation will become increaingly tense into September 2008 and perhaps more so in November 2008 when this aspect becomes exact in the MEP of the affected houses, when transit SATURN closely conjuncts and JUPITER aspects natal 10th lord MARS in the 2nd house, while transit SATURN also aspects natal JUPITER in the 11th house.

The other chart is based on the event when the Supreme Soviet of Georgia adopted an act on the Restoration of Independence of Georgian statehood and proclaimed Georgia to be the legal successor of the Democratic Republic of Georgia of 1918-1921. This Referendum was held in Georgia on March 31, with South Ossetia not participating. On April 9 1991, basing on the results of the 31 March Referendum, independence was restored. "The evidience points to a proclamation around noon."

 

The second chart gives 24° 26' Gemini rising. 5th lord VENUS is infant and badly placed in the 12th house and natally afflicted by RAHU in the 8th house with 2nd lord MOON and 9th lord SATURN badly placed in the 8th house but unafflicted. 3rd lord SUN is well placed and strong in the 10th house. In this chart,

- Rahu-Saturn period is operating.

- transit SUN is conjunct stationary transit KETU in the 2nd house, which also closely afflicts natal SUN.

The aspect of transit JUPITER to transit SATURN would be helpful in the case this were the authentic chart.

 

The time will likely tell in coming weeks which chart is more likely for this country.

Russia Invades South Ossetia

Today saw Russian tanks and armed forces enter South Ossetia, a province of Georgia, in order to intervene in a conflict between secessionists (with ties to Russia) and Georgian troops. The BBC reports that Russian troops have fired on Georgian troops, while Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili calls the invasion an act of war.

Russian forces have invaded the Georgian province of Abkhazia hours after taking control of most of South Ossetia, said Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.
