I agree completely.

 

You impressed this salient fact on me a long time ago and I have observed vigorously that an authentic chart for any country has to show

a) the right natal potential

b) explain all major historical events (after the fact)

c) serve as a basis of accurate predictions of significant future events

 

With a scientific system of astrology, like the System's Approach, it is possible to establish such charts based on the above three fundamental criteria.

 

In my ten years of work in the area of mundane astrology, I have seen this achieved for a number of charts. Sadly, over the same time, I have observed how several astrologers have skipped one or more of these fundamental steps. One suspects such astrologers somehow link a given chart or method they are working with to their own importance. Such a thought-mistake makes an objective or scientific assessment all but impossible. The common approach of such people is to ignore steps a) and c) and place all their faith in being clever at b). That is not true astrology - as it misleads not only themselves, but, more importantly, others. Over time, others come to understand the mistake but by then such contributions may have served to damage the reputation of astrology. The lesson is that there are no short cuts to real progress. Adopting a scientific approach to astrology is a must for

all astrologers.

As the following news story brings out, the escalating crisis between USA and RUSSIA is linked to the MISSILE SHIELD being placed in various countries formerly under the control of the Soviet Union. This issue has been raised by the Russians as a matter of grave concern and one which they have said all along they will respond to. The developments in Georgia in recent days is likely only an aspect of this underlying crisis in the relations between the the USA and Russia over the growing influence of the USA in the region through an emphasis of former Soviet sattelite states on relations with the West rather than Russia.

 

The evolving crisis recalls the Cuban Missile Crisis which began with the installation of U.S. Jupiter missiles in Turkey in 1961. The Soviet's responded to this in the summer of 1962 by moving missiles to Cuba - sparking a crisis that kept the world on edge during the month of October 1962, when it was finally defused. This has been described on my blog in some detail regarding the astrological nature of the crisis: SAMVA USA chart: Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 At that time, the tension resulted from the rare conjunction of transit KETU and transit stationary 8th lord SATURN - two first rate malefics for the US Cancer ascendant - exactly conjunct natal 3rd lord MERCURY in the 7th house of foreign policy in the SAMVA USA chart. The tension then surrounded the initiatives of the US

government concerning its ability to transport bombs to Moscow! The Soviets wanted to impress this point by creating similar capacity in Cuba, to be able to launch missiles on Washington DC!

 

This crisis is also clearly seen in the SAMVA USA chart. Transit stationary RAHU is now exacly conjunct natal 2nd lord SUN. As such, the indication of the US Presidency and the power of the USA in the world is being put to the test. Today, the members of the Russian parliament, the Duma, backed a motion urging the president to recognise the independence of Georgia's breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
