Some of it is likely due to relations between a largely christian nation which may have given muslims a feeling of inferiority in the colonial era. It could thus be some pent up feelings like that, but also mixed with likely feelings of moral superiority by religious fanatics to a perceived deterioration of morals in an increasingly materialistic western country. In the UK chart we can note the following astrological dynamics: - the dual malefic period of Mars-SATURN is operating. This period has been attended by "the worst financial crisis in the UK in 60 years", according to the Chancellor of the Treasury. As Saturn in the 6th lord of enemies, and is natally placed in the 12th house of foreign matters, it would be normal to expect such problems. - This is more so as transit 6th lord SATURN is conjunct most effective point of 12th house of UK chart, arousing feelings of enemies. - Further reducing the communal harmony, is the conjunction of transit 4th lord JUPITER at 19° Sagittarius with natal 12th lord SUN in the 4th house. - Making things more difficult still is the conjunction of transit RAHU with natal VENUS as 2nd lord of family and relations with neighboring countries. As RAHU is also afflicting natal KETU in the 1st house, this would be a difficult time for the self-image of the country. Transit KETU in the 11th house would also be aspecting the natal RAHU in the 7th house of foreign policy, suggesting sudden setbacks for the foreign policy during this transit station of the Moon's nodes. In sum, there are many difficult aspects in the UK chart, explaining the difficult experiences in the country in many respects.
