Russia's isolation?

Hello Andrew,

The post was aimed at pointing to the prediction, which went in the

same direction as the comments of the US Secretary of State. I

thought perhaps some list members might find it of interest that her

exact words were identical to those used by me to predict for Russia

based on this chart. The Bush administration would not say this

unless it intended to punish Russia by isolating them. The first

step in doing so would be to announce their isolation to the world.

The next step would be to expel them from the cooperation in some

international bodies, like the OECD, which there are rumors they are

planning to do. Again, if you disagree with this assessment, it is

fine and there is no need to debate the point as we can simply

monitor the developments as per the prediction to see if they help

validate the chart, as events so far have.

Best wishes,

Thor

You need to look at the actions (facts). Condeleeza Rice can say what

she wants but the Germans and the others Europeans are telling her to

shut up. Hear what they say but watch what they do.

Hello Andrew,

There is no need to get confrontational even if you disagree.

The issue at hand, from the astrology of this chart, which we are

testing, is that while the KETU sub-period is operating until early

2009, Russia will endure some pressure in the form of being ignored

or isolated, which is the nature of Ketu. Also, as Ketu afflicts

MERCURY as 4th lord in the chart such action would be disturbing to

the collective harmony and commerce, including foreign trade, as Ketu

and Mercury are placed in the 10th house. After this time, the chart

suggests things will begin to return to a more natural track for the

country. Assuming that the chart is authentic, no one is saying all

commerical or diplomatic activities with Russia will cease, only that

it will increasingly feel being ignored or left out - even some event

to that effect may take place. Keep in mind, that this is only based

on the chart. The vocal statement of US Secretary of State and the

response of the President of Russia speak volumes about what is going

on in the international diplomatic sphere. Your views and news do not

overshadow that but do help in offering balance to the assessment.

Also, if you really want to get into the astrology of such issues,

your contributions to the astrological understanding, or for that

matter of any list member, would be appreicated. Just arguing a

point, for its own sake, without reference to the underlying

astrological inquiry, is not what this discussion list is about.

As for the Agreement between Russia and Belarus being identical to

the US purchase of Alaska, research on the matter suggests there is a

big difference.

belarus.html

Even then, the issue is simply if the chart has predictive merit. So

far, developments have seemed to indicate that this indeed is the

case. Ultimately, the predictions are the arbiter of the merit of

individual charts.

Best wishes,

Thor

> MOSCOW, Russia (AP) -- President Dmitry Medvedev said Friday that

Russia would not yield to Western pressure or be pushed into

isolation over the war in Georgia.

> Dmitry Medvedev's remarks reflected a growing strain in Russia's

relations with the United States. Medvedev's comments appeared to be

a response to U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who warned

Russia on Thursday that its policies have put it on a path to

isolation and irrelevance. Medvedev dismissed a claim that Russia was

sliding back to authoritarianism. "They are, in fact, pushing us onto

the development track that is based not on normal and civilized

cooperation with other countries, but on autonomous development

behind thick walls and an 'iron curtain,"' Medvedev said at a meeting

with non-governmental organizations. "This is not our track, and it

makes no sense to return to the past." In addition, he vowed that

Russia would set its own course. "No new outside factors, let alone

outside pressure on Russia, will change our strategic course,"

Medvedev said. "We will continuously strengthen our national

security, modernize the military and

> increase our defense capability to a sufficient level," he

said. "And we will determine what level is sufficient proceeding from

the current situation; it can't be measured once and for all."

Medvedev reaffirmed his push for a new pan-European security pact,

saying NATO alone can't ensure security on the continent.

> MOSCOW, Russia (AP) -- President Dmitry Medvedev said Friday that

Russia would not yield to Western pressure or be pushed into

isolation over the war in Georgia.

> Dmitry Medvedev's remarks reflected a growing strain in Russia's

relations with the United States. Medvedev's comments appeared to be

a response to U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who warned

Russia on Thursday that its policies have put it on a path to

isolation and irrelevance. Medvedev dismissed a claim that Russia was

sliding back to authoritarianism. " They are, in fact, pushing us onto

the development track that is based not on normal and civilized

cooperation with other countries, but on autonomous development

behind thick walls and an 'iron curtain, " ' Medvedev said at a meeting

with non-governmental organizations. " This is not our track, and it

makes no sense to return to the past. " In addition, he vowed that

Russia would set its own course. " No new outside factors, let alone

outside pressure on Russia, will change our strategic course, "

Medvedev said. " We will continuously strengthen our national

security, modernize the military and

> increase our defense capability to a sufficient level, " he

said. " And we will determine what level is sufficient proceeding from

the current situation; it can't be measured once and for all. "

Medvedev reaffirmed his push for a new pan-European security pact,

saying NATO alone can't ensure security on the continent.
