On the history of US involvement in war

In explaining the decision of a nation to go into war with another, there must be a set of grievances and some untenable situation that can only be resolved through direct conflict, rather than diplomatic negotiation. Time may also be of the essence, that the matter brooks no delay. Well, in looking at major conflicts in the history of the USA in terms of the SAMVA USA chart, there are patterns of periods and transits (natal-to-transit or transit-to-transit aspects involving the major functional malefics) that are always seen to be at work. Each event is unique and reflects the unique astrological patterns at each time. For instance, consider one famous such conflict, the War of 1812.

 

In 1812, the US had only been in existence as a sovereign nation for only some two decades when the US government declared war on Britain, the major world power at that time. The war was declared on June 18, 1812. Some historians have called this war the "Second War of Independence" for a combination of reasons. There was outrage at the impressments (seizure) of thousands of American sailors, frustration at British restraints on neutral trade while Britain warred with France, and anger at British support for native attacks along the frontier which conflicted with American expansion and settlement into the Old Northwest.

 

 

Rahu-Venus period was operating at the outbreak.

During such a period the communal harmony would become important.

- transit 6th lord JUPITER at 21° 51' Gemini conjunct the H12 MEP and afflicting natal 4th lord VENUS at 23° 51' Sagittarius/H6.

This aspect explains the sufficent " outrage" and "anger" felt by the American public. to again take on the British

- transit 8th lord SATURN at 14° 01' Sagittarius/H6 aspected by natal RAHU at 17° 57' Aries/H10 and transit RAHU at 10° 07' Leo/H2.

This aspect reflects the "frustration" over the obstacles or manipulations involved.

- transit KETU at 10° 06' Aquarius/H8 under aspect from natal 10th lord MARS at 10° 05' Scorpio/H5 and transit 10th lord MARS at 17° 49° Gemini/H12 under exact afflicting aspect of natal KETU at 17° 47' Libra/H7.

These aspects signal the sudden physical action to enter into combat. with the British. Mars as 10th lord is also the ruler of foreign trade, while Ketu's natal affliction of the 4th house represents the harsh treatment the indigenous people received at the hands of the US government.

 

This example highlights the uniqueness of the event - but also the tendency of the USA as a collective to have strong feelings - as reflected in the natal aspect of 6th lord JUPITER to 1st lord MOON in the chart - which may lead them to apply military force to resolve matters.

 

However, there is another element in all this I want to share with you and that is the fact that many of the major conflicts have involved the Moon's nodes transiting into the signs Gemini and Sagittarius, which occupy the 12th and 6th houses, respectively, in the SAMVA USA chart. In fact, during the outbreak of the following US wars...

 

- the Second Barbary War of 1815

- the First Seminole war of 1816-18

- the Civil War of 1861-1865

- the entry of the USA into WWI in 1917

- the Vietnam War in 1964

- the "9/11" attacks and the War in Afghanistan in 2001

 

....the nodes were transiting the signs Gemin/H12 and Sagittarus/H6. Interestingly, as the nodes are both aspecting points in the 6th and 12th houses (around 17° 57' Gemini and Sagittarius), problems can arise when the functional malefic planets become stationary there. This fact is consistent with the true ascendant for the USA being Cancer, as both these signs fall into malefic houses.

 

The nodes again enter these signs and houses in November 2009 and remain there until May 2011, during the sub-period of 8th lord Saturn. As mentioned earlier, the aspects involving the nodes and 6th lord Jupiter and 8th lord Saturn become quite adverse during the summer months of 2010.
