Financial crisis becoming entrenched

The US dollar and stock market have fallen into a renewed slump. Each new bit of incoming data and news appears to be slowly but surely wringing remaining vestiges of hope for an early recovery out of investor minds.

Dear friends,

The news coming out of the USA, by the incoming leadership, is less than encouraging:

Biden: U.S. Economy in Danger of 'Absolutely Tanking'

December 19, 2008 3:42 PM

Vice President-Elect Joe Biden said the U.S. economy is in danger of "absolutely tanking" and will need a second stimulus package in the $600-billion to $700-billion range.

"The economy is in much worse shape than we thought it was in," Biden told me during an exclusive interview -- his first since becoming vice president-elect-- to air this Sunday on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos. There is no short run other than keeping the economy from absolutely tanking. That's the only short run," Biden told me.

Obama fills econ team, says business will revive

By PHILIP ELLIOTT – 13 hours ago

CHICAGO (AP) — Completing his Cabinet a month before taking office, President-elect Barack Obama named officials to oversee transportation, labor, trade and small business policy Friday but warned that economic recovery won't be nearly as swift. "It will take longer than any of us would like — years, not months. It will get worse before it gets better. But it will get better if we are willing to act boldly and swiftly," Obama said — and he promised to do just that.

This outcome is perfectly in line with the predictions from late 2007/early 2008 mentioned in my latest blog:

"Predictions on financial stabilityThe Venus-Jupiter period is operating. As explained in the article The year ahead for the USA (December 31, 2007) this period places a major focus on financial stability. Further, in an article More financial market volatility in 2008 (February 2, 2008) the following was stated: "December [2008]:

transit L6 Jupiter enters Capricorn H7. While moving into a good house, the 7th house, the financial stability of the USA is expected to weaken as Jupiter is debilitated (has half strength only) in this sign."Predictions concerning the US economyIn the article The banking crisis of 2008 and the SAMVA USA chart (March 17, 2008) the following was predicted for the economy."Looking forward we can note that transit Jupiter will enter its sign of debilitation in

late 2008 and will a year later enter the 8th house. These placements are not helpful for financial stability. In other words, the outlook for the economy is not very good for the next few years."

The SAMVA USA chart (Perpetual Union) continues to prove its worth as a basis of accurate predictions.

Best wishes,

Thor
