From ancient times, astrology developed as early scientists followed planets moving across the sky, with the fixed stars and constellations as a reference point. All of it was visible to the human eye. To read more: http://cosmologer.blogspot.com/
Guest guest
Dear friends, In my blog I draw attention to the differening emphasis of the ancient vedic and modern western forms of astrology on visibility (light) as per the following scheme: VEDIC ASTROLOGY – primarily a VISIBLE astrology 1. Planetary references Visible zodiac: Sidereal zodiac Invisible zodiac: ascending degree, for all houses 2. Horoscopic influences Visible planetary bodies: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn Invisible planetary bodies: Rahu and Ketu (Moon’s nodes), WESTERN ASTROLOGY – primarily an INVISIBLE astrology 1. Planetary references Invisible zodiac: tropical zodiac, ASC, IC, MC and DES degrees, all house degrees. 2. Horoscopic influences Visible planetary bodies: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn Invisible planetary bodies: Rahu and Ketu (Moon’s nodes), Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Pluto, Sedna, Eris, Chiron, Juno, Vesta, Lilith, all the Arabic parts, including Part of Fortune, midpoints, Fixed Stars, including Aldebaran, Regulus, Sirius and Spica While differences in these two branches of astrology may be attributed to historical factors, they also suggest the two forms highlight different features of the skies. In vedic thought it is well known that the human eye is a reflection of the conciousness. Moreover, it is seen to reflect to its limited extent the perfect conciousness of God. This mirroring of the flame of reflected conciousness in living beings begins at their birth and is distinguished at their death. In the same way, the visible planets can be seen to reflect the brilliance of the Sun in the solar system. The visible zodiac can then be seen to add background energy, as signs and houses. As the eternal dance of the Macrocosm (God) is conciousness based, this suggests to me that the light or visibility is an important ingredient in the transmission of the karmic energy of the cosmic design to life on Earth. I´d be interested in other views on this.
