Dear Thor,Nice blog post and yes it was interesting and useful. It prompted me to think of these other examples of Rahu exposing Jupiter matters. Last week Obama admitted ("I screwed up") that he undermined his own ethical standards by pushing forward the nomination of Tom Daschle as Secretary of Health and Human Services even when it was clear he owed $128,000 in unpaid taxes. Same could be said for Obama's nominee for White House performance officer, Nancy Killefer, who had to pull her name from consideration because of unpaid payroll taxes for a household employee.Interestingly, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was confirmed at the very beginning of the Rahu-Jupiter 5 degree orb after apologizing and weathering weeks of criticism for paying $34,000 in late income

Dear Shayn,

Thanks for the kind words and for sharing the very interesting and useful additional insights!

When you mention all these events in a timeline like that, they really come together as a pattern, don´t they! Indeed, the transit conjunction of 6th lord Jupiter and Rahu in the 7th house in the SAMVA USA chart, is triggering the natal affliction of Rahu to the 10th, 4th, 6th and 2nd houses. Fascinating stuff.

Today, a fresh setback for Obama has just been announced. The third commerce secretary nominee has withdrawn!! These happening are clearly linked to the conjunction of Jupiter (cabinet minister) and Rahu (revelations of inappropriate things) happening close to natal 3rd lord Mercury (commerce) in the SAMVA USA chart..

The about-face left Obama without a full team to lead the government. Obama's first choice for Commerce secretary, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, took his name out of consideration amid a federal investigation dealing with state contracts in New Mexico. Citing tax problems, Tom Daschle backed out as secretary of Health and Human Services and Nancy Killefer, whose job is not Cabinet level, withdrew as the government's first chief performance officer. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner was confirmed despite revelations that he had not paid some of his taxes on time. Dear Thor and List Members,Thanks for drawing out the interesting and relevant correlation between Mercury and commerce. Also, with the involvement of the third house lord, we see thwarted initiatives. Looking back in history, the last Jupiter-Rahu transit conjunction happened in Gemini (the press) in the USA SAMVA's 12th house (mishaps) in the summer of 2001. This was several months after the disappearance of congressional intern Chandra Levy and the time when Congressman Gary Condit's name became increasingly tied with her disappearance. News of an affair between the two was widespread and the press was accused of "media overkill" on the
