Dear friends,

The applying aspect of transit Saturn to the MEP of the 2nd house in April to June 2009 is similar to that seen in May to July 1950. The orb of the aspect to the MEP was closer in 1950 but a more propitious sub-period of Mars was operating during the Jupiter major period. Other aspects accompanied this aspect in 1950 as they do in 2009, such as

- the transit of 6th lord Jupiter into Aquarius and 8th house

- nodal affliction to natal 1st lord Moon and natal 6th lord Jupiter

The aspect of transit Saturn to MEP became exact on April 17 and again on June 11, 1950. It was within 1° orb throughout June. At that time, US ally South Korea was invaded by North Korean. The conflict is seen in the major period influence triggered by the transit of Jupiter and aspects to its natal placement. The UN called for action and US troops were airlifted to Korea. The US stock market which had been rising into June, reaching 224,5 on June 22, began to drop and reached a low of 197,5 on July 13, 12% lower, when it resumed its climb.

At the present time, we have Venus-Saturn period operating and transit Saturn is in an applying retrograde conjunction with the MEP of the 2nd house, but will become just under 1° orb without becoming exact this time around.

Given that the Saturn sub-period is operating, it is possible the impact of transit Saturn may again be moderately felt as the conjunction aspect is less exact and lasting for a shorter time in 2009. Possible results are a resumption of volatility in the stock market in coming months and discord in the labour market over rising unemployment, etc.

Interestingly, with transit Jupiter in the 7th house of foreign policy now exactly under aspect of natal Saturn as 8th lord of obstructions in the 5th house, the main foreign policy problem of the USA at this time seem to be brazen acts of hostage taking of US vessels for monetary extortion by pirates in remote waters.

Best wishes,

Thor
