Guest guest
Hello Thor: In Western astro, special attention is given to the point of station of a planet, as it changes directions. How does SA view this, please? From a Western viewpoint, we would expect to see a significant increase in impact - with tSaturn stationing so close to an important sensitive point. Warmly, John ==================================== Cosmologer wrote: Dear friends, The applying aspect of transit Saturn to the MEP of the 2nd house in April to June 2009 is similar to that seen in May to July 1950. Possible results are a resumption of volatility in the stock market in coming months and discord in the labour market over rising unemployment, etc. Interestingly, with transit Jupiter in the 7th house of foreign policy now exactly under aspect of natal Saturn as 8th lord of obstructions in the 5th house, the main foreign policy problem of the USA at this time seem to be brazen acts of hostage taking of US vessels for monetary extortion by pirates in remote waters. Guest guest
Hello John, SA doesn´t consider the station-direct or station-retrograde as a rule per se. Retorgarde or direct motion are not considered important in SA. In addition to the functional and general nature of the planet(s) involved in an aspect, the focus on the quantum and timing of influence in SA is on the exactness of the aspect (the closer the greater the influence) the duration of the aspect (the longer lasting the greater the influence) the applying or separating nature of the aspect (the applying aspect would have increasing influence and separating a lessening influence. That said, an aspect within 1° orb on either side has the potential to strain a strong planet, while an orb of 5° has the power to harm a weak planet. For instance, let us consider Saturn at 20° 55' Leo and goes station-direct in mid May 2009. It would likely have a different influence in charts with the MEP of a strong dispositor at 20°, 21° or 22°. In the first case, it would be a separating influence after being stationary in a non-exact aspect. In the second case it would be an applying in exact aspect for a short while after having been stationary very close to the MEP. The 21° rising sign would feel the impact most closely. In the third case, Saturn would briefly pass over the MEP some weeks later, at close to normal speed, with the least influence of the three cases. Best wishes, Thor Dr. John D.
