10° Sagittarius rising for President Obama?

Dear friends,

 

I have tried a rectification of a chart for Barack Obama, given the concerns has expressed about the Capricorn rising chart not explaining his accomplishments in life and the importance of having an authentic chart for him.

 

A. Rectification guideposts

 

1. He has a pleasant personality and is of an above average height (good influences on 1st house)

 

2. He has is the gift of making a good speech, even by his own reckoning (good influences on 3rd house or Mercury).

 

Reid says Obama told him, 'I have a gift'

2. He did not have a steady relationship with a father figure in his life (weakeness and malefic influences on Sun, 9th house or 2nd house).

 

3. His mother was accomplished but died at a relatively young age, or around 50 (weakeness and malefic influences on 4th lord or Moon).

 

4. His wife is accomplished (good influences on 7th house or Moon).

 

5. He has two daughters (good influences on 5th house but perhaps not on Jupiter).

 

6. He has tried drugs and is a light smoker (Rahu or 8th lord influence).

 

7. Has high income (strong influence on 11th house)

 

8. Had surge in popular support in 2008 (good influences on strong 2nd, 8th or 10th houses).

 

9. Elected President of the most powerful country in the world in 2008 (great karma for 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 10th houses).

 

B. Finding

I find Barack Obama may likely have 9° 43' Sagittarius rising based on his being born at 4:30 pm in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Interestingly, as it has been suggested Obama was actually born in the country of his father, Kenya, I explored this same rising degree based on 3:36 pm in Mombasa, Kenya. The result is interesting, for it seems to give an slightly better fit with regard to career advancement in 2008 but less good for life of mother. I would be interested in the assessment of in this regard.

 

Below I offer my reasoning for this rising sign and degree.

 

Barack Obama has a pleasant personality, which is a characteristic of this sign. Moroever, 1st lord Jupiter is strongly placed in the MEP of 2nd house under aspect from 10th lord Mercury in the MEP of the 8th house. This placement would also explain his above average height, without being very tall.

 

His speech making ability comes from the above noted combination which fortifies the 2nd house. This is doubly important as the 2nd house importantly contains 3rd lord Saturn albeit in infancy. The third house rules speech and action. As 3rd lord, the lord of a sun-like-house, is placed in the 2nd house, another sun-like-house, Saturn gains extra strength also being in own sign Capricorn.

 

His 9th lord Sun being placed in the 8th house of obstacles and endings would explain the loss of his father. Despite the indicator of the evolution of the soul thus being weak, the major influence of Jupiter compensates.

 

His 8th lord Moon is badly placed in the 6th house, would explain the difficult life and ultimate loss of mother. Aspect of Jupiter to Moon would be a helpful influence. As Moon is in MEP of 6th house, it may also threaten Obama with illness. This placement may also explain his drug experience and limited smoking habit.

 

5th lord Mars in the 9th house, a sun-like-house, would bless with children, but weakeness of Mars in old age may explain lack of son.

 

Placement of 11th lord Venus on 7th house would explain beautiful and desired wife and high income to self and spouse. This placement would also explain his ease (comfort) with himself and his wife.

 

Placement of 1st lord Jupiter in the MEP of the 2nd house, aspect of 10th lord Mercury to MEP of 2nd house and 1st lord is a major good karma for him to become President and sustains him in the career, although there will likely be plenty of controversies, obstacles and endings in his very public life.

 

His nodes are well placed and non-afflicting in the chart, expect Ketu at 3° 58' Aquairus/H3 aspects 11th lord Venus, giving a spiritual sort of quality to the wife and would explain friendship with religious minded people who come off as being unusual (reverend Wright, etc.).

 

Finally, a surge in support for Obama in 2008 would be explained by his running the Jupiter major period, albeit sub-period of Moon, with transit 1st lord Jupiter in Sagittarius/H1 and aspecting transit 3rd lord Saturn in 9th house and 8th lord Moon in 2nd house on election night.

Final note

Interestingly, if he had been born in Mombasa Kenya (and not in Honolulu) at 3:36 pm on August 4, 1961, he would have same Ascendant and degree. However, there are two salient differences. First, 8th lord Moon at 1° 05' Taurus is outside the MEP of the 6th house lessening the impact on his own health but Moon here does not enjoy aspect of planet of divine grace, 1st lord Jupiter. Second, he would have been running the more favourable Jupiter-Venus period when elected President. While it seems to me that Honolulu is more appropriate, I would be interested in the view of on this issue of more likely birth place.

> I find Barack Obama may likely have 9° 43' Sagittarius rising based on his

being born at 4:30 pm in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Interestingly, as

it has been suggested Obama was actually born in the country of his father,

Kenya, I explored this same rising degree based on 3:36 pm in Mombasa, Kenya.

The result is interesting, for it seems to give an slightly better fit with

regard to career advancement in 2008 but less good for life of mother. I would

be interested in the assessment of in this regard.

> Interestingly, if he had been born in Mombasa Kenya (and not in Honolulu) at

3:36 pm on August 4, 1961, he would have same Ascendant and degree. However,

there are two salient differences. First, 8th lord Moon at 1° 05' Taurus is

outside the MEP of the 6th house lessening the impact on his own health but Moon

here does not enjoy aspect of planet of divine grace, 1st lord Jupiter. Second,

he would have been running the more favourable Jupiter-Venus period when elected

President. While it seems to me that Honolulu is more appropriate, I would be

interested in the view of on this issue of more likely birth

place.
