China and the ocean of US Treasury debt

Dear friends,

It will be interesting to see what happens in the USA when transit 6th lord Jupiter becomes stationary on top of natal 2nd lord Sun at 24° Capricorn in the SAMVA USA chart in the Fall. Earlier I have suggested this could be associated with an increase in US Treasury debt and a resumption of financial stability concerns. Jupiter also indicates monetary policy, which is linked to interest rates and the US dollar.

Today, I read that the US will be auctioning trillions of dollars of Treasury bonds in coming months. This is interesting in itself.

Thsi situation is also interesting for the fact that the US depends on China to buy a large part of the bonds it issues. In recent weeks/months, there have been news of China issuing warnings about the US dollar and worrying about their huge holdings of US bonds, about $750 billion at last count. At the same time, we have heard that Russia's President Medvedev is pushing the creation of a global currency to replace the US dollar.

Let us see what happens on this front later this year. Of course, when a malefic closely afflicts a strong planet in a chart, there would be considerable strain expected but not an outright setback. Perhaps the dollar will drop at that time, or at least concerns about it increase. We will soon see.

Best wishes,

Thor
