US President to resolve Mid-East conflict

Hello list,

After the US administration encountered problems in trying to broker peace in the Mid-East, President Obama decided to insert himself into the process to find a peaceful settlement between the Israelis and Palestinians. Needless to say, this long simmering contentious issue is not easy to resolve. Obama will need all his powers of persuasion to get the two sides to agree on some peaceful way forward. It will not be easy.

This situation is developing as predicted based on the transit station of Jupiter as 6th lord of conflict which takes place right on top of the 2nd lord Sun in the SAMVA USA chart. The Sun, which is placed in the 7th house of foreign policy, represents the leader of the country. The US President is now becoming directly involved in a major and long standing international conflict. In the attached JPG file we may also note the afflicting aspects to natal Jupiter from MMP Saturn and transit Ketu. The US President is also embroiled in a nasty Health Care debate. There is also pressure on President Obama from his (former) supporters over his decision not to rescind the decision of the Bush administration to keep troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are also concerns he was the first to blink in a stand-off with Russia, when he decided to scrap plans to install a Missile Shield program in the former

satellite states of the Soviet Union, Poland and Czeck Republic. The people there, ever fearful of Russia, feel they have, again, been sold down the river in a game of geo-political chess. In short, there is no dearth of problems besetting the President of the USA, and the tension is seen to continue in the SAMVA USA chart and some more interesting developments are likely.

In the Capricorn rising chart of Israel, the transit stationary Jupiter is 12th lord of losses is now conjunct the 2nd lord Saturn in the 7th house of foreign policy. Accordingly, there are strains on the status of the country's international relations. This transit will possibly involve some losses for the country, and these could take the form of concessions on the settlement expansion issue, which is something the religious right in Israel has been adamant about must go on.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Obama will host meetings Tuesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, the White House announced Saturday. Israel has ignored President Obama's calls to freeze construction of settlements. The meetings come as hopes for renewed Israeli-Palestinian talks have dimmed despite diplomatic efforts of former Maine Sen. George Mitchell, the U.S. envoy for the Middle East, who capped off last week's visit to the region with a second round of talks with both sides. The meetings, set for the sidelines of next week's U.N. General Assembly session in New York, are "another sign of the president's deep commitment to

comprehensive peace that he wants to personally engage at this juncture," Mitchell said in the White House statement. Obama will talk with each leader separately before all three meet together, the White House said.
