"A powerful Pacific Ocean earthquake in Samoa on 29th September spawned towering tsunami waves that swept ashore flattening villages, killing at least 39 people and leaving dozens of workers missing at devastated National Park Service facilities." This news is another signature on the SAMVA USA chart showing the event clearly in transit. Whole villages were flushed out. This seems to have been a devastating event. The White House has declared it a major disaster and ordered federal aid.
