While the outlook for the US economy has improved, it remains fraught with uncertainty. The financial markets in the USA are developing in an unusual manner. The dollar is under great pressure, and has fallen to lows this year. At the same time, the stock market has repaired to highs so far this year. The fact that the Dow Jones Industrial Index has surpassed 10.000 mark is a positive psychological development, although it soon pulled back under that mark, and is still around 30% below its all time high level of 14164, established on October 9, 2007.

NEW YORK – The Dow Jones industrial average has reclaimed 10,000 for the first time in a year. The Dow crossed five figures in afternoon trading Wednesday, seven months after it hit a 12-year low of 6,547.05 on March 9. The comeback by the stock market's best-known indicator is the most visible sign yet that investors believe the economy is indeed recovering from the financial crisis and recession. Cheering erupted from traders on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange as stocks briefly moved above the psychological barrier. The Dow fell back into the 9,990 range in the normal ebb and flow of trading.

Astrologically, the sub-period lord in the SAMVA USA chart, 8th lord Saturn is moving out of the close aspect of transit Rahu. This would reduce the tensions. Saturn's dispositor, Mercury, is in full strength in Virgo and 3rd house at the present time. This is good for the indications of transit Saturn, including the economy and working people. Saturn's aspect to natal 6th lord Jupiter has been associated with tensions over the dollar, the US health care debate and the conflict in Afghanistan. Transit Ketu's aspect to natal Jupiter is also seperating, which is helpful. In a few days, transit 2nd lord Sun will move into the sign Libra, where it is debilitated and the 4th house. This is likely not particularly helpful as its dispositor, Venus, is transit debilitated in Virgo until early November. Meanwhile, natal 2nd lord Sun is afflicted by transit 6th lord Jupiter. Early next week, when transit Sun and

Moon are in Libra and transit Mercury comes under the afflicting aspect of transit Jupiter, things could become more tense. We'll soon see.
