Lynching of Leo Frank in 1915

In the news today is the Lynching of Leo Frank in 1915.

Frank was tried and convicted for the murder of 13 year old Mary Phagan on April 26, 1913. Many think Frank, a Jewish man, was wrongly accused and that a black man, Jim Conley, who was the chief prosecution witness, was the real culprit. More importantly, when Frank was about to be released from prison, on August 17, 1915 a lynch mob of upper crust citizens, also members of the Klu Klux Klan, in Atlanta organised to kidnap and then proceeded to hang Frank. The case, but especially the lynching, received national attention.

For background, we can note that the strong Mars major period in the SAMVA USA chart lasted from April 1912 to April 1919. During this period, WW I broke out in Europe in 1914, bringing global tensions. The war lasted unto 1918, with the US formally entering the war on April 6, 1917, the same year the Russian revolution took place. The US entry took place during the weak Mars-Venus period. However, when the Mars-Sun period rolled around in May 1918, victory quickly ensued in the Summer offensive. The US asserted its global power status in the wake of this war.
