Wednesday, December 2, 2009 Republic of Ireland An authentic mundane chart for Ireland has long been sought. Charts have been rectified for different events, ranging from proclamations of independence since the 1870s to the creation of the Irish Free State in the 1920s, and to the creation of the Republic of Ireland in the late 1940s. In this article, a new chart is presented for Ireland which is based on the event when the Republic of Ireland Act was signed. The signing of such an act has in some other countries been found to provide the basis for an authentic national horoscope. According to the Irish Times, the signing took place at 11:35 AM on December 21, 1948 in Dublin. [1] The assistance of Irish astrologer Bill Sheeran in identifying the time of signing is gratefully acknowledged. This time gives 5° 48’ Aquarius (sidereal) rising in the national horoscope. In this article, this promising but tentative horoscope for Ireland is examined closely in terms of its natal endowments and the astrological dynamics of key historical events. A prediction of the likely future trends is then presented. The scandal was then compounded by church leaders trying to hush up the cases rather than root out the evildoers. Jupiter is the general indicator for religion. Natally, Jupiter is placed in its own sign, Sagittarius, which is very good. However, Jupiter is somewhat weakened by being combust the Sun. It is also conjunct 8th lord Mercury. While the orb is 3 1/2 degrees, which would normally not be a problem, it is likely that in this case the conjunction harms the indications of Jupiter. Rahu in the 3rd house MEP, moreover, afflicts the combust Mercury closely, increasing its maleficience. In regard to we should also note that Ketu afflicts the 9th house of organised religion. However, 9th lord Venus is prominently placed in the MEP of the 10th house, giving religion an important place. In sum, there are some porblems seen in this chart linked to organised religion. At the present time, the Jupiter energy in the chart is important due to the major period in operation. From mid March 2010, transit Jupiter in the 1st house (self) entered into a mutual aspect with Ketu in the 5th house (children). This would suggest some separation energy linked to the church, more so given the natal aspect of Ketu. The energy of Jupiter in transit is weakened further by its dispositor, Saturn as 1st lord (self), being placed in the 8th house (obstacles and endings). The dispositor of Saturn, Mercury is further weakened by being in its sign of debilitation, Pisces and 2nd house. In short, this would be consistent with the scandal and the removal of yet another bishop in the Irish Catholic church.
