USA: Man on wire

Sometimes, it is interesting to study the astrology of unique national events.

 

I just saw a very interesting documentary "Man on a wire" about the exploits of 25 year old Frenchman, Philippe Petit, a high wire artist, who in the early morning hours of August 7, 1974, walked on a wire between the two towers of the new World Trade Center, stopping to show feats of balance. The death-defying stunt grabbed the news headlines in New York city and around the world.

On August 7, 1974, shortly after 7:15 a.m., Petit stepped off the South Tower and onto his 3/4" 6×19 IWRC (independent wire rope core) steel cable. He walked the wire for 45 minutes, making eight crossings between the towers, a quarter mile above the sidewalks of Manhattan. In addition to walking, he sat on the wire, gave knee salutes and, while lying on the wire, spoke with a gull circling above his head.

Astrology: Mercury-Mercury period.

Achievement and spectacle:

- Transit 3rd lord Mercury at 11° Cancer in oppostion to natal Mercury at 12° Capricorn. A unique act of communication or transportation.

- Transit 10th lord Mars at 13° Leo and 2nd house aspects transit 1st lord Moon at 12° Pisces and 9th house. The daring act won lasting fame.

- Transit 2nd lord Sun at 21° Cancer aspects natal Sun at 24° Capricorn. There was a great deal of concentration and mastery involved.

Death defying stunt:

- Transit 8th lord Saturn at 20° Gemini conjunct MEP of H12 under aspect from Jupiter at 23° Aquarius and 8th house. A death-like situation involving foreigners.

- Transit Ketu at 24° Taurus and 11th house aspects natal Sun at 24° Capricorn and 7th house. The strange event initially freaked the authorities out.

- Transit Rahu at 24° Scorpio conjunct natal Saturn at 27° Scorpio and 5th house. There was a lot of manipulation necessary to carry off the illegal and dangerous act.
