Hello dear list members,

Here is an outline of news, from September 14, 2009 to February 22, 2010, related to an attempted al-Qaeda terrorist bomb plot ("martyrdom operation") of the New York subway system. It seems the plot would have been quite horriffic if realised.

NY homes raided in terror probe

Homes in New York have been raided in relation to a counter-terrorism investigation, officials say. Federal agents helped by local police began executing search warrants on residences in the borough of Queens on Sunday night. Unnamed sources were quoted by US media as saying the raids were linked to an undercover surveillance operation. Federal agents are reportedly due to brief senior members of Congress about the case.

'Terror plot' Afghans denied bail

Two Afghan-born men charged with lying to officials about a plot to launch attacks in America have been denied bail at court hearings in the US. Najibullah Zazi, 24, and Ahmad Wais Afzali, 37, were arrested last week during a police operation to shut down a suspected terror plot. Mr Zazi's father, Mohammed, 53, was also arrested, but has been bailed, on condition that he stays at home. Najibullah Zazi has denied having any involvement with the alleged plot.

'Training camp'

Mr Zazi, an airport shuttle driver, and his father were arrested in their home city of Denver, while Mr Afzali was arrested in Queens, New York, where he is an imam at a mosque. Mr Zazi, who was already under surveillance by US security officials, had recently returned from a trip to New York. He was questioned for three days prior to his arrest on Saturday. A legal resident of the US since 1999, Mr Zazi is alleged by government officials to have received explosives and weapons training at an al-Qaeda camp in Pakistan last year.

Two arrested over New York City 'bomb plot'

Two more men have been arrested in the US in connection with an alleged plot to bomb New York City last year. The two - named as Adis Medunjanin and Zasrein Ahmedzay - were detained as part of an "ongoing investigation", an FBI spokesman told reporters. They are said to be associates of an Afghan-born Colorado man, Najibullah Zazi, who is accused of planning an attack on New York commuters. Mr Zazi and two other men were charged in September. All deny the charges.

Afghan man pleads guilty to New York subway bomb plot

An Afghan-born Colorado airport bus driver has pleaded guilty to plotting to blow up New York's subway system. Najibullah Zazi told a federal court in the city that he had been planning what he called a "martyrdom operation". Zazi pleaded guilty to conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction, conspiracy to commit murder and providing material support to al-Qaeda.

In short, a deadly plot was discovered and in time the principal suspects were apprehended. The placements and afflictions in the SAMVA USA chart since last fall are consistent with this development.

On the day the plot is uncovered, transit 8th lord Saturn, as sub-period lord, has just entered Virgo and the 3rd house. At the same time, it is emerging from its afflicting aspect by natal Saturn. Transit Mars in the 12th house is just seperating from the aspect of natal Ketu. The transit station of Ketu was just ending and its aspect to natal 6th lord Jupiter was almost exact. Meanwhile, transit Jupiter was just settling into a stationary conjunction of 2nd lord Sun.

On the day the news is announced that the ring leader has confessed, transit 8th lord Saturn has begun to separate from its aspect to natal Mars as 10th lord. This stationary aspect from December 2009 to February 2010 had been predicted to bring strain to law enforcement. Transit 3rd lord Mercury is conjunct natal 2nd lord Sun and 1st lord Moon is conjunct the MEP of the 11th house, while transit 4th lord is conjunct the MEP of the 8th house.
