HAITI* Magnitude 7.0 HAITI REGION January 12, 2010 This earthquake, which caused over 200.000 people to lose their lives and injured many more, was not predicted as we do not have an authentic chart for the country. No list members have come forward with an interest to follow this country. CHILE* Magnitude 6.9 LIBERTADOR O HIGGINS, March 11, 2010* Magnitude 6.6 OFFSHORE BIO-BIO, March 05, 2010* Magnitude 8.8 OFFSHORE MAULE, February 27, 2010 These earthquakes, the first of which was very destructive, were not predicted. We do not have an authentic chart for the country. No list members have come forward with an interest to follow this country. There has been some mention of the gravitational effects of the full and new Moon or the alignment of many planets, but this is more a supplementary information as the focus is primarily on the astrology of the events. The overarching difficulty facing astrologers is to identify accuratemethods of chart interpretation and prediction as well as to discover authenticor true charts for collective entities under study. While this is a great challenge, as one depends on the other, considerable progress has been made on SAMVA list based on the Systems' Approach, with gradually authentic charts emerging through repeat predictions. Aside from just predicting an earthquake, astrology opens up the possibility to predict more the impact of such natural events. For instance, in mundane charts, where significant adverse aspects are seen, the likelihood of human suffering would be considered likelier. The destructiveness of the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile almost beggar belief. In Haiti a smaller event destroyed more poorly constructed housing, killing many, many more. Thedestruction and damage to assets was nevertheless likely greater in Chile. The magnitude of a quake is relative in terms of mundane chart analysis, while the amount of destruction of huma life and suffering is the primary consideration. This is followed by loss of assets, disturbance to transportation and communication infrastructure, food supplies, etc. as the secondary considerations. A side note, some have suggested a pole shift may be in progress, but that seems to besomewhat speculative at this stage. Nevertheless, the frequency of large earthquakes along all the major faults in the world suggest something is going on with the crust of the planet, which warrants monitoring.
