Two stories relating to the USA.

 

1. Mass rally in Japan against US base on Okinawa

Nearly 100,000 people have attended a rally in Japan's southern island of Okinawa demanding that a US military base be moved off the island. Under a 2006 agreement with the US, the US Marines' Futenma base was to be moved from the centre to the coast. But demonstrators want Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama to stick to an election pledge to remove it completely.

When the USA landed in Okinawa in WWII they established a significant foothold in Japan which they used to great advantage in subjugating the country with bombing raids. It seems the Japanese no longer want to have the US military presence in their country. It would seem the aspect to natal 6th lord Jupiter in the 5th house by transit 8th lord Saturn in the 3rd house, the sub-period lord, is important. Transit Rahu and Ketu afflict the MEPs of the 6th and 12th houses. The placement of Ketu in the MEP of the 12th house seems important for setbacks involving far away countries. Meanwhile, Rahu afflicts the 10th house. Transit 3rd lord Mercury is conjunct natal Rahu in 10th house.

 

2. Rescuers fan out after twister kills 10 in Miss.

YAZOO CITY, Miss. – Rescuers spread out Sunday to find anyone who might be left behind in the rural Mississippi countryside hit hard by a tornado that killed 10 people a day earlier, while others returned to demolished homes to salvage what they could and bulldoze the rubble.

About 40 National Guard soldiers patrolled the devastated Yazoo City, some in Humvees and others in a Blackhawk helicopter. Dozens of volunteer state troopers and other law enforcement officers also came from far-flung parts of the state to help.

In many cases when such natural disasters take place, there are aspects involving Ketu and between Jupiter and Saturn. Today, Ketu is in 12th house MEP aspecting 4th house and its own natal placement. Transit 8th lord Saturn afflicting Jupiter as 6th lord.

 

3. The Banks Are Shaking in America

The health of banks depends on low interest rates; however, those same rates cause housing prices to go up. The inherent risk in this is the triggering of another mortgage crisis. Early this week, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) announced it had taken over eight more banks. Three of the banks are in Florida; the other two have locations in California, Massachusetts, Michigan and Washington. This year, a total 50 banks have been taken over by the U.S. FDIC.

Actually, the FDIC has taken over 7 more banks this weekend, bringing the total up to 57 this year. This would only serve to raise the concerns. The affliction of natal Jupiter and the transit of Jupiter in the 8th house are explaining the problems with the banks, but also the monetary policy problems, involving low interest rates.
