Which Direction is good ?Fung Shui and Vastu Sastra

Namaste,

I see many have read Fung Shui - this is good.

For those interested in this knowledge, Vastu Sastra by Vishvakarama

can help, as can Vastu by Rajasimha, etc.

Vastu as you all are aware is the science of house building and

construction of earth. also how Vastu Purusha is at home

in this space of 9X9 or 81 squres that make up the space.

FOr each one of the 81 spaces, specific objects are suggest to

Obtain that space (Akasha, owned by Guru (Jupiter).

From this we also get Vastu Shanti - to insure the home is

a harmonious place to live - a temple priest can assist with this.

 

re: Directions - we are aware of each direction (10) 8 directions

from East closckwise to south east, ending up at North east,

then going up and down. Each are ruled by a Graha, the diety

associated with each direction.

Now Vastu Purshua when in this space, HIS head faces North east(

Guru owns), HIS feet South west ( Rahu owns ). He is centered (

Nabi) in the BrahnSthana or center space , where no object typcially

resides.

 

I mention this, as sleeping in the right direction will be good,

bit if the surrounding space is not conducive to the benefits

Of proper rest, this also has to be considered.

Dear Frank,

One interesting thing to note in Garuda Purana Part 146.30-

 

For persons born in the rasis: Simha, Kanya and Tula, the main door is

good if made in the north. For persons born in Vrischika, Dhanus and

Makara etc, the door is advised in the East, etc.

Beds should not slant. If they slant to the South, death due to

serpents, impotency, issueless.

If the bed slants to the South East, imprisonment is the result. If

North West, birth of a son and satisfaction. If it slants towards the

North, harassment by the King. If towards West,

sickness.....................

It also gives the list of the 32 deities to worship on the outside and 4

on the inside before erecting a building

Then the list for all the corners etc.

All that is here seen is his greatness. And then,

beyond all thisis that Purusha great. All that was created in this

world is but one part of him. The other three parts are

in heaven, where they are eternal.

Yes you bring out some interesting points on Vastu. AS you mention

Signs ( Rasi)and the direction of the doors, so is there instruction

for Main door construction ( height and width) , swinging clockwise

when open, diety on the door AND based upon caste:

Brahmin - Door in west direction

Kshatriya - North

Vaishya - East

Shudra - South

placing the main door in the 4th part ( one side has 9 parts ,

one for each Graha) is considered Auspicious , as per Varahamira:

4th part on the following sides grants the following:

North - Virtues , Wealth, Sons

East - Royal Favour, birth or daughter

South - Good food and drink; children

West - Improvemenet in weath and luck.

 

 

this is some very good reading and compliments our Jyotish studies.

A Good book on this ( if there is interest) is Mystics of Vastu

Sastra by M.K. Agarwal - publishhed by Sagar.
