#2 Chandra Ayan Vrat

Dear Kanupriya,

 

The Chandra Ayan Vrata is usually kept if there is affliction / a curse on

Jupiter. This is considered the curse of a Brahmin.

 

For curses, as we know, 2 or more malefics should have graha drishti (iccha) on

the said planet. If there is rashi drishti, then the occurance and stress to

come is more prominent.

 

There are several levels of affliction as well.

 

If a cursed planet is the AtmaKaraka, the Ishta must be worshipped. This is

deeper than the mere affliction on the physical / mental level.

 

Based on memory, some remedies given (via the W. Coast conference 2002) were:

 

1) Chandra Aayan Vrata

This is the fasting when the transitting Moon is exactly 90 degreres

(quadrants) away form Ketu in the chart. This has to be kept for 21 such months.

Thereafter select prayers and donations have to be done.

 

2) Worship of Shiva / Fasting on Mondays

If the above cannot be done, consider fasting on Mondays. The ideas is to exalt

Jupiter. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, ruled by the Moon, ruling Mondays.

 

3) Use of gemstones

A yellow sapphire can be worn, but use this with caution. If in a position to do

more harm, then go by the above two.

 

It would seem natural that one can simply do good for his / her own Guru,

Father-figures and guides. Other creative methods can be sought, depending on a

person’s belief system and capacity to do the above.
