Guest guest
Dear Friends, Some exchanges between me and Visti on this topic, thought would post it on the list for everyone. With Blessings of the Divine Mother Sunil John - Visti @ Jagannathpuri suniljohn_2004 Tuesday, April 13, 2004 7:16 AM RE: Gem (11th from AL & IL ) Stone wearing & Kala Chakra Table |Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Sunil, Namaskar. I have tried to answer some of your queries. Keep in mind that there are almost NO classic sources on Gemstones, and most of the knowledge comes from Parampara. Also one has to be flexible with the way Gemstones are used. Some are used for; Long periods of time Some only until a Dasa ends The latter usage gives us a lot of flexibility, i.e. we may even be prompted to take up Dusthäna lordships to correct a problem! This usage requires a lot of thought and practice. Now stepwise comments below. Best wishes, Visti. Dear Astrologers, Ramadasji and Guru Partha and everyone, Since right now the topic is on gemstone wearing, I would prefer asking a query on it also it shall benefit me personally. Pls guide my thinking here :- 1. For strengthening a planet we wear gemstone in the right hand. Visti: Savya and Apasavya, Siddha and Ulta, Right and Left. That’s the basis from simple hindu philosophy. Coming to the core vedic philosophy, study the Dhyana for the Brihaspati Gayatri (can be found in VRA) where the difference between left handed worship and right handed worship is shown. Shiva is usually depicted with only his right hand in Jnäna Mudra, whilst the left hand is always downwards, i.e. palms down in denial of the left-handed or bhoga-worship. 2. We can wear gemstone in index finger, but there it can result in increase in ego (although increase in ego can be a boon for some) Visti: yup – its Tarjani. 3. Gem of the 11th from AL if a planet is placed is extremely good. SR says one can easily wear this, without any exception. Visti: The exception is that it must be well placed. The 9th lord can be worn without fail. 4. If there is no planet in the 11th from AL, can we recommend the lord of the sign, and in case of Sc or Aq, the lord which ever is stronger. Visti: Yes, that planet is responsible for actually causing the gains to come. But what if this lord is also 8th lord from lagna? That’s why we have to be careful. 5. For weakening a planet we recommend the stone in the left hand. Visti: yes. To shed off the effects of the planet. 6. If deb planets stones are to be put we recommend stone in the left hand Visti: NO. Deb planets can be extremely beneficial, we do not wanto debilitate auspicious planets. First judge what that planet is doing for you, even thou it is in debilitation. 7. Can we also recommend the stone similarly of the 11th from Indu Lagna since that is the one giving prosperity. Visti: no comment. I believe the Indu Lagna popularly used is wrongly calculated, but unfortunately I wouldn’t know the right calculation, so this I cannot comment on. 8. If 11th from AL has a deb planet so should we recommend a stone to be worn in the left hand, will it still give money?? Visti: wrong basis, a debilitated planet in 11th from AL will give lots of gains. Preferably that quality is strengthened. However also analyze this debilitated planet from Lagna. If this is in the 8th house a risk of the money coming from inheritance, i.e. someone dying. Do you wanto strengthen that? 9. What happens if that planet stone is in badhak house, will it activate the badhak Visti: It will unless its 5th or 9th lord, then it will pacify the badhak. The reason being that 5th or 9th lords in Badhak Sthana shows the negligence of the deity, and one should wear its gem as a method of worship. 10. How do we use Kaal Chakra Table in selection of time to wear any stone, say eg Jup in Cancer, so should it be on Monday during Jup Hora in the Kaala Chakra table. Visti: That’s not how the Kaala Chakra Table is used. But I will give you some deeper insight; The time of weakening the evil effect of a planet is the day of its sign placement and the Kaala (not hora) it lords. i.e. in the case of Jupiter in Cancer, it would be Monday during Jupiters Kaala. Now the time of strengthening the planet is the day and/or Hora it lords. i.e. incase of Jupiter its Thursday and/or Jupiter Hora. So – Hora shows when that planet is strong and Kaala shows when the planets evil rises. 11. Kaala chakra table is used to fasten the remedial effects, am i right. Visti: The Kaala Chakra Table is used to determine what the effect of the Gem will be on our Pranas. Now the Kaala Chakra Table is based on 28 Naxatras. Have you ever seen Astrologers use the Naxatra of a planetary position to determine the auspiciousness of a gem? Those astrologers have memorized the Kaala Chakra positions in their head, just by referring to the natives moon-naxatra and counting the naxatra positions therefrom. In this way many astrologers hide their predictive techniques through mere use of their calculative power. Would be obliged if answered, Thanks With Blessings of the Divine Mother Sunil John P.S: If there is delay in me replying back it is due to my email account playing up, so pls dont mind. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Visti, Sunil et al, Some comments for further discussions: Shiva is usually depicted with only his right hand in Jnäna Mudra, whilst the left hand is always downwards, i.e. palms down in denial of the left-handed or bhoga-worship. What about Krishna’s shakti produced from his left? The explanation cannot be so simplistic……… 2. We can wear gemstone in index finger, but there it can result in increase in ego (although increase in ego can be a boon for some) Visti: yup – its Tarjani I would like Ramadasji to also comment on my reasoning: The Index finger carries the energies of the signs Cp, Aq and Pi. Of course we know that Aq have dual lordships of Saturn and Rahu and this afflicts Jupiter, whereas Jupiter is debilitated in the sign Cp besides being at home in its own sign Pi. Hence, all in all, Jupiter gets weakened in this position. The other social indication is that, the Index finger is the egoistic finger, indicating authority…….the “I” factor!! J A bit of correction with the suggestions below: 9. I have not as yet come across anything in the sastras suggesting that one should wear the gemstone as a method of propitiating. In fact the correct method of propitiation is to gift it. Even in BPHS, with the 5 gems in the water jar and after puja, the gemstones are given away as an upaya for one born during amavasya etc. In Padma Purana under the section of Worship of Planets, one of the upayas for Mercury, Jupiter etc is to gift the Emerald in the case of Mercury and Pusyaraga in the case of Jupiter. In any case, the statement in Garuda Purana on Diamond is a good enough hint that gemstones are used to activate or help increase a possible rajayoga or enhance the power of a yogada etc. love, Swee swee www.brihaspati.net Sunil John [suniljohn_2004] 16 April 2004 13:33 Vedic Astrology Cc: Varahamihira |Sri Varaha| Fw: Gem (11th from AL & IL ) Stone wearing ( in Conversation with Visti) Dear Friends, Some exchanges between me and Visti on this topic, thought would post it on the list for everyone. Guest guest
` nmae naray[ay, om namo näräyaëäya|Dear Sunil, Regarding the usage of gem stones, if anybody has got Agni Purana,Skanda Purana,Ashtanga Hridaya,Muhurta Chintamani and Agastya Magarshi's Ratna Shastra ,Padmanabha Daivajna's Nakshatra Chudamani etc.,then everything about Gem stones are mentioned. Also in Shankaracharya's Soundarya Lahari, it has been mentioned that Shri Chakra is embedded with all the 9 Gems.So the remaining are Upa Ratnas and their effects are not that much. Also the usage of Bhasma or the ashes of gemstones are mentioned in Ayurveda including gem therapy. Also if one dreams of any gem stone,it indicates some auspicious event as mentioned in Vyasa Maharshi's Swapna Phala classic. I hope this helps you. Guest guest
Dear Swee, You are right. Gems are worn to strengthen beneficial planets and donated to propiate the planets causing problems. The dictum is you offer Dana for planet causing problems. Chandrashekhar. > > In any case, the statement in Garuda Purana on Diamond is a good enough hint that gemstones are used to activate or help increase a possible rajayoga or enhance the power of a yogada etc. > > > > love, > > > > Swee > > swee@b... > www.brihaspati.net > > > > > > > Sunil John [suniljohn_2004@h...] > 16 April 2004 13:33 > Vedic Astrology > Cc: Varahamihira > |Sri Varaha| Fw: Gem (11th from AL & IL ) Stone wearing ( in Conversation with Visti) > > > > Dear Friends, > > > Some exchanges between me and Visti on this topic, thought would post it on the list for everyone. > > > > > > With Blessings of the Divine Mother > > > > > > Sunil John > > > - > > Visti @ Jagannathpuri > > > suniljohn_2004@h... > > > Tuesday, April 13, 2004 7:16 AM > > > RE: Gem (11th from AL & IL ) Stone wearing & Kala Chakra Table |Hare Rama Krishna| > > Dear Sunil, Namaskar. > > I have tried to answer some of your queries. > > > > Would be obliged if answered, > > Thanks > > > > > > With Blessings of the Divine Mother > > > > Sunil John > > P.S: If there is delay in me replying back it is due to my email account playing up, so pls dont mind. > > > > |Om Tat Sat| > http://www.varahamihira > > > > > > |Om Tat Sat| > http://www.varahamihira > > > > >
