Guest guest
Dear Rajesh, You have broached a very interesting subject. I have observed lately with growing dismay and sadness, that many people approach mantras with certain 'purposes'. The moment a purpose or a desire is attached to a mantra it becomes tainted and non-satvik or rather it's a satva that is very much impure, even if that purpose be that of siddhi or moksha. The great souls say that the only reason for chanting mantras is for the realization of god and that he may have mercy upon us. Once this happens, and if we relentlessly worship day after day with single-minded devotion and focus, our material life becomes smoother and protected. The protection factor in fact becomes very strong. The Supreme Being always protects. We cannot change our karma. The boy was destined to die; you cannot change that. But it was his extreme good fortune, that immediately prior to his death he had darshan of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva...as Om they surely signify the Paramatma. And he died as soon as he met Shiva! Wow that must be instant mukti from the entire cycle of birth. Rest assured he must have been a very divine soul who came to this earth to fulfil a very brief karma. As far as we are concerned as individuals we must always ensure that we are doing the right karma and 'calling' Him all the time. For without his unending mercy there is no respite in this world. Meanwhile we will have to suffer and experience what is destined for us. That is irrespective of the japas and mantras that we must continue to do through out our lives...for you see Rajesh, there is no other way out! Best regards, Sarbani Rajesh M. So the emerging conclusion is that all the hardwork and Tapasaya(Mantras) actually led to the death. While it could be true in that boy's case, yet it's a depressing thought when one reaches the conclusion that chanting thousands of mantaras will lead no where. Then what is the use of mantaras? I think this conclusion is not true in all cases and it will lead to fatalist type thinking. Rather manatras should help to bring peace, prosperity and better circumstances, since we are supposed to get relief from the higher powers/Gods to whom we are praying and depending upon the chart (Sanchit Karma and D-60) some good developments should happen. 2. The Guru of that boy failed to predict the conditions under which the boy will die and unnecessary initiated all puja etc., for Brahama, Vishnu and Mahesh. Had he perceieved all these conditions, there was no need for all the pujas and the boy would have lived longer. That means obviously that lonegivity determination is not perfect in it self. 3. That the Guru and the three lords were destined to get together in the boy's case and so they all helped to make the destiny come true. That also means that in other cases, the Gods can also be destined to get together and make positive developments come true. So Mantaras can help in such cases. If the negative was destined, then so should the positive be. So there's an optimistic thought emerging form this depressing story. So fate can be changed in some cases!
