Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || || Om Namo Satyanaarayanaya || Dear Chandrashekarji and Learned members, Your list of Nakshatra and Gotra interested me, The sequence of the Nakshatra Gotra (4 x 7 )is same as the sapta Rishi sequence (Called Ursa major in english?)(Ref: Brihat Samhita, Sapta Rishi Chapter) seen in the northern sky. The Naming sequence to the seven stars from East onwards is Marichi (Eastmost) Vasishta Angirasa Atri Pulastya Pulahah Kratu(Westmost) The Agastiar(called Canopus in English) is seen in southern sky and mostly not visible in norther hemisphere like in USA etc. Varahamihira also gives many details about his worship in southern sky. Since these Rishi's are rulling different sections of the sky their rulership of Gotra,Nakshatra etc could imply different portents on humans. Varahmihira also gives the classes of people governed by the Seven Rishi. Warm Regards Sanjay P varahamihira , Chandrashekhar <boxdel> wrote: > Dear Ajit, > A nice post. Guest guest
Dear Sanjay, Yes it does. That is why I thought it to be more authentic. Of course I am not an authority on these matters and perhaps Sanjay can comment when he is back from Singapore.
