Respected Chandrashekhar Ji, Guru's and Learned Members, You have aksed the question to Guru Ji, with your's and Guru Ji's permisison, I am writing here on what I have understood so far about the "Taamboola Prashna".

By examining the Taamboolams (Betel Leaves) and after the number of leaves is counted certain calculations are necessary for arriving at the Taamboola Graha and Taamboola Aarudha. By examining the nature, hardness, softness, dryness, wear & tear, shape and color of the Taamboola all Queries can be answered.

There is a way of counting the leaves. Before noon the first Bhava is indicated by the first taamboola and the second Bhava by the second and so on. But in the afternoon the last Taamboola becomes the first Bhava, last but one becomes the second Bhava and so on. For determining the Arudha the total number of betel leaves is first multiplied by 2 and then by 5.

One more is added to the net result.(Even though this is equivalent to multiplying by 10 and one more is added there are many significant points for these numbers, namely 2,5 and 1. The total arrived at like this is divided by 7. For this number 7 also there are many hidden meanings. This can be represented by a formula like this: (10 n + 1 ) / 7.

The remainder will indicate numbers from 1 to 6 or 0. If the remainder is 1 it indicates Sun, 2 is Moon, 3 is Mars, 4 is Mercury, 5 is Jupiter, 6 is Venus and 0(Seven) is Saturn. The general results of each planet is like this : Sun : Indicates sorrowful state of affairs.Moon : Welfare(If strong, good results and if weak bad results)Mars : Dispute, difference of opinion, litigation, legal disputes, enemity etc.Mercury & Jupiter : Relating to finance(giving of finance, loss, gain and monetary transactions depending upon the strength of the planets.)Venus : Fruitfulness, realization of ambition, victory

etc.Saturn : Distruction, death, despair, defect, danger etc. After fixing up the Arudha (ie, where the above planet is posited) the analysis is just like the Horary chart analysis. The nature, softness, dryness, wear & tear, color etc of the Taamboola indicate everything we require. There are several dieties indicated and fixed for each part and in and out of the betel leaves also.

The above is a just gist / introduction of the "TaamBoola Prasna" and more detailed description can be found in the Prasna Margam by Sri. B.V Raman Ji.
