Guest guest
Hi all, I attach my elder son's chart (10 Aug 98 @ 08.10 @ 75-13e, 15-20n; +5.30). Can someone advice me on what career path would be the best for him? Something food-related, perhaps? or a surgeon? I eagerly await your comments, thank you. Warm regards, Ramapriya hubli
Guest guest
||Om Brihaspataye Namah|| Dear Ramapriya, If you want my 2 cents worth, let your son choose what he wants to do. No point in imposing career options (astro or otherwise) on the young man. Your role should be that of a friend, supporter ($$) and advisor for him. Please dont look at this from a Jyotish angle and get biased. Good luck, mate! HariRamapriya D <hubli wrote: Hi all, I attach my elder son's chart (10 Aug 98 @ 08.10 @ 75-13e, 15-20n; +5.30). Guest guest
|| Jaya Jagannath || Dear Hari, You said " Please dont look at this from a Jyotish angle and get biased. " This is a incorrect way of looking at Jyotish. This is the responsibility of parents to groom the child to reach his potential. Normally one is not aware of his own potential and hence cannot make right decisions at the opportune time. This is why Jyotishi is seen as a councellor too, who can show the possible ways to one who seek advice. When a father is a Jyotishi too, why not he consult Jyotish before he provides different opportunities to the child at different stages to groom him. Needless to say whatever a child thinks or wants at a young age is not what always suitable for him. This makes Rama's question valid. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
||Om Brihaspataye Namah|| Dear Sarajit, I agree broadly with what you say; my concern is supposing that the Jyotisa advises a particular area of study that is "potentially" good for the child, that area of study shouldnt be forced upon the child. It should be left to the child to choose what he/she likes to do and not what the parent wishes him/her to do. If I had really to advise Ramapriya what he ought to do, I would ask him to worship Goddess Sarasvati or teach his son to worship Sarasvati. This was the upadesa given to my mother 30 years back by a kind brahmana when she was very worried about both of her sons future. She kept this worship for 30 years and still does...the net result is that one son was a engineer + MBA from one of Indias top management institute while the other son was engineer + PhD (thats me actually...). But at no point of time, were our parents opinions forced upon us. We were left to choose whatever we wanted to do. The blessings of Sarasvati (why do you suppose Sanjay has devoted a whole page to this?) really...so simple and how powerfully, it does good for the entire family! Very satvic too. kind regards HariSarajit Poddar <varahamihira wrote: || Jaya Jagannath ||Dear Hari,You said "Please dont look at this from a Jyotishangle and get biased." Guest guest
Quite what I'd intended too, Sarajit. What better than harnessing the best from an individual right from that stage when it can actually be harnessed? One can hardly impose some things when it concerns one's child, and I guess career is one such road. As things stand right now actually, both dad and son want the son to be an aviator! But one look at D-10 and the presence of a powerful Ve-Ma in the artha trikona would more indicate either a plastic surgeon or a gourmet chef I await suggestions avidly.
