Guest guest
Om NamoBhagavate SatyaDevaaya Namaste friends, Happy Guru Pournima to all of you! I want to express my humble gratitude to all my gurus! On this auspicious occasion, I am happy to release version 6.0 of free software "Jagannatha Hora Lite" and commercial software "Jagannatha Hora 6.0". Version 6.0 of the free Lite version contains annual Tithi Pravesha charts (annual lunar return charts - the lunar equivalent of Tajaka), Tithi Ashtottari dasa, Moola dasa and Drigdasa. The commercial version includes critical updates in atlas computation and timezone computation and several features like a graphical transit calendar. This version also includes a fix in the licensing mechanism. Your machine ID will not change and the same license key will work until you change your network card or make significant hardware changes. Version 6.0 also includes many minor bug-fixes/improvements. If you bought version 5.0 of the commercial version, I strongly recommend upgrading to version 6.0. Soon version 6.0 of JHoraLite will be available for downloading on SJC website too. For now, you can download from my website. Here are the links: Free Jagannatha Hora Lite version 6.0: http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/jhl6 The free 6.0 update for those who ALREADY have the commercial (non-Lite) version "Jagannatha Hora 5.0" (releases 5.0 or 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 or 5.0.3): http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/jh6up For freshly buying version 6.0 of the commercial software: http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/jh6 Depending on your situation, go to the appropriate page. Of course, you can go to http://www.geocities.com/pvr108 and find links from there. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha PS: There seems to be some problem with the -GeoCities service I have. Sometimes, it gives an error saying the file cannot be accessed. This does not happen for simple pages and happens only when you try to download a zip file. I have upgraded to a better service. It will take a few days for the new service to start. Until then, if you get an error, there is no solution other than coming back after a few hours and trying again. PPS: If you go to the JHLite 6.0 page, download only the short version (jhl6s.zip). The other version (jhl6.zip) has a problem. I tried uploading it to several times. Each time, it says the upload was successful. But, when I download it, the downloaded file has one extra byte and hence the zip file is unzippable. I will resolve the issue in a couple of days. Meanwhile, you can install the short version. The only difference is that it has minimal help.
Guest guest
Namaste, I gave a link below to "free 6.0 update for those who ALREADY have the commercial (non-lite) version". A couple of people who do not have the commercial version and have only the lite version tried to install the update. If you do that, your lite version will also be corrupted and you will have to re-install it. The update is meant only for existing customers of the commercial version. If you are not one, simply download the latest lite version and do not complicate things for yourself by trying out the update of the commercial software. Guest guest
||Om Brihaspataye Namah|| Dear Narasimha, I downloaded the jhl6s zip file and installed the program; it looks very nice. The bar graphs in the strengths pane are really cool. Just a quick question: (1) I have gotten involved with curses lately and sneaking a look at Moola Dasa. So I would like to clarify what is the recommended option you have put for Moola Dasa. Does this work well in the majority of cases? I noticed that when Sanjay taught the curses topic at the SJC Singapore conference, he had some disagreement with the starting variable for Moola Dasa. I really wish you had provided a limited space to insert a simple shloka or prayer on top of the printout as is done commonly in South India. regards Hari"Narasimha P.V.R. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Namaste, Version 6.0.1 of free Jyotish software Jagannatha Hora Lite has been released. Due to a discrepancy in saving the user preferences file, some user preferences are saved/read incorrectly (e.g. custom ayanamsa). Topocentric positions and true nodes are used by default and hence dasa dates are off by several months. There are several symptoms, but the root cause is the same. It has been fixed. Now user preferences are saved correctly and the default preferences are set correctly. You are advised to uninstall the previous release (6.0) and install this new version (version 6.0, release 6.0.1). Please go to http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/jhl6 There are no similar problems in the commercial version. Rao Nemani mentioned that he had problems when experimenting with some options in the commercial version also. However, there are no such problems to the best of my knowledge. He said he cannot reproduce the problem. Hence I will assume that there was some confusion on his part when experimenting. Please note that JHora commercial version gives many options and it is possible to change various calculations drastically by using various preferences. When playing with the preferences, make sure that you understand what you are doing. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
Guest guest
||Om Brihaspataye Namah|| Dear Narasimha, Why have you chosen to change the recommended option in the option of years to 365.2425 days per year? Do you not recommend the 360 deg solar years option or is it some strategy change? regards Hari"Narasimha P.V.R.
