Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Visti, Namaste. I was wondering if debilitated planets are supposed to be more effective/good in vimsamsa, because D-20 chart is shakti-based, and don't debilitated planets in astrology indicate the Female/Shakti, while exalted planets indicate the Male/Shiva? Can this logic be extended to other charts? What do you think? The 6th from Amätya Karaka shows the Palana devata. Now reckon 9th house as Lagna and count the 6th therefrom – you get the 2nd house, and that’s why its called the Palana Devata. As you said, exaltation shows male attribute of a planet and the debilitation shows the female attribute. In the world of spirituality, there is only one male, the paramapurusha, the light which is brilliantly glowing and attracting each one of us towards it.... just like a candle light attracts the insects near it. Since male nature shows activity and female nature shows passivity, in front of the supreme, we all are like females, who are passively pulled by the great attractive force of the supreme soul. More than that, spirtual development means a feeling of craving and deprivation for the supreme reality, something which is given by debilitation and not exaltation. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Sarajit, Namaste. Thanks for your reply. During my trip to Hyderabad (I came back in the morning), i myself was thinking about D-20. You have very correctly pointed out that there is only one Purusha and the rest of the world is Prakriti. But I was thinking that Vimsamsa represents Divine Mother and the rest of the world is dependent on Her for succour. She is the latent energy in the universe and it is powerless (debilitated) without Her grace. Since D-20 deals with upasana, which is nothing but focussing/harnessing of inner energies, I feel D-20 is more a celebration / reflection of Mother and we are all but infants who constantly crave Her affection and support. I feel the yearning is more intense here as one's very existence depends on it. I think that D-1 to D-12 are generally ruled by Sun (physical plane) and thereafter till d-24 by Moon and so on and so forth. But I have a feeling that vimsamsa is specially ruled by Moon, and perhaps the fact that Moon is debilitated in the natural 8th house (scorpio) has something to do with the debilitation being more powerful in D-20. Isn't d-20 a more intricate picture of 8th house? looking forward to your comments, Regards, Lakshmi varahamihira , " Sarajit Poddar " <sarajit@s...> wrote: > > - > Sarajit Poddar > varahamihira > Saturday, August 07, 2004 11:18 PM > Re: |Sri Varaha| Vimsamsa Clarification > > > || Jaya Jagannath || > Dear Lakshmi, Namaste > > I am not sure whether I am right, but let me share my thinking.
