If anyone would have the chance to read this mail I’d be delighted to get guidance with a native asking for help. Female / July 18 1956 / 22:05:00 / Pforzheim Germany 08E42 48N54 1hE 0Dls. Ascendant 18 Aquarius 16 Navamsha 14 Pisces 28 She is since July in bed with a serious migraine and drastic loss of weight due to the extreme pain and rejection of food and water. She is not able to keep anything inside. I see that there are more than enough inflictions to the Moon and Mercury and the conjunction of Moon, Rahu and Saturn in the 10th house are highlighted due to the d1 Narayana of Scorpio. Moon Vimshottary as well. We see the head and inflictions to the head from the first house and from the sign Aries. Karaka for the head is the Sun and Mars as lord of Aries. Here we have Parivartana Yoga between Mars in 1st house and Saturn (Nerves) in the 10th. This involves the 1st house and both Mars, & Saturn with Rahu hold the Moon (Mind) in Papakartari Yoga. Moon and Rahu are also debilitated in Scorpio. Moon is also the Dispositor of Sun and 8th lord. The aspect of a very afflicted Mercury does not help either. The Sun in the 6th is equally afflicted and as Karaka for the head, conjoins the 8th Lord Mercury. And there is so much more. Moon is heavily afflicted in the Navamsha as well and so on. The only planet helping in this destructive field is Badhag, Yoga Karaka & AK Venus in own sign. Venus is aspecting the Moon, Sun and Mercury. As 9th and 4th Lord she could be strengthened. But as the Badhag this is not good either. To strengthen the Moon would be not the best idea as of his 6th lordship. Can you please give me a hint what the learning, respective the remedy would be? Sanjayji said in a lecture once. If you have aspect from Jupiter the Doctor can help. Venus brings help through Magic (Mantra) & Mercury helps with Medicine. None of those is helping here and the Dasa period to come does not suggest that it will be better soon. So what to suggest. ??????? What would be the spiritual learning? Let me venture to give my observations on the case you have presented. (a) Both the lagna co-lords are in the 10th house along with 6th lord which is debilitated. This could mean health problems from birth. The 8th lord is in 6th house along with 7th lord. 6th lord Moon (jala tatva) being in jala tatva rasi (Sc) and 10th house could mean that there is swelling of knees while 8th lord in Cn could mean health problems with chest area. (b) There are multiple curses present in the rasi chart. Ju is aspected by Ma and Sa, Ve is aspected by Ma, Sa, Ra and Mo is conjoined Sa & Ra. Ju would furnish the primary curse as that of a brahmin but the secondary curses could also be operative during the life of the native. We find from Moola dasa that the native is running Venus dasa from July 1992 till July 2007. Since Venus is the atmakaraka and since Moon is also involved, it is the physical body which will get punished if the curse is deemed to be operative. The antardasa is that of Sa which is the worst malefic in this curse and retrograde indicating that the cures are difficult to obtain. Note that Sa is also the 12th lord here (bed?) © The potential for Venus to act as badhakesh is also there as it is conjoined Ketu and aspected by three malefics. (d) The presence of Mars (1st lord of kalapurusha) as well as the rasi dristi of Me and Su from Cn ensures that the intelligence is protected from these severe afflictions and functions normally. (f) I am not able to make out why migraine problems (you have made some points regarding this) are there as I feel that 6th or 8th lord or badhakesh should be involved. Hopefully the experts in medical astrology will step in here. From the above observations, I feel that it is Venus which needs to be pacified. After making a small correction to the birth time (PPL), I observe that Venus is in Ghora shastyamsa which translates as "Aweful, violent, terrible, dreadful, poison". Since it is also the atmakaraka, I would advise the following remedies to the native if she is capable of doing it. (a) Istadevata mantra: ||Om Namo Bhagavate Ramachandraya|| (refer srath.com) (b) Mahamrityunjaya mantra © Worship of a shivalinga with water & curd (I am not so competent here, Gurus will hopefully step in) (d) Gayatri mantra (as Sun aspects the lagna) May God bless the native. I presume the lady has the problems aggravated on account of B.P. and marital tensions. I think she should get some relief when Moon-Jup-Venus Dasha, Antar, Pratyantar start operating as Jupiter would have moved to her 9th house by then and would be aspecting the Lagna and 5th, which houses Mandi. Wearing a Diamond could help somewhat. Her Ishta Devata appears to be Shiva, but this would only help if she has faith in him . If so you could ask her to recite Mahamrityunjaya mantra. In this case its moon which is placed in 10th in Navmansha and is aspected by mars a malefic. Moreover, the mars is placed in lagna in staru rashi in rashi chart. The moon in rashi chart is debiliated and afflicted by Saturn and Rahu another malefics. The Mandi is placed in 5th house causes problems related to Head. The 5th house lord is in 6th. So problem creating planets are mars,moon and Saturn. Till Nov 2004 she will be in Mo/Ra/sa possibly may not get much alleviation. After nov 2004 in Me PD she will het relief if propitiate Balaji. Effect of Mars should be nullified by worshiping Lord Ganesh. Diamond for debiliated Yk is a must. My father says that if no medicine works one should try following shloka 1008 times daily as and when possible. I have seen it working magically. I had a first meeting with the lady yesterday and had the chance to check a few details with her. Most afflicted Planet in the chart is in my opinion the Sun. Reason: All Malefics + 6th and 8th Lord + Badhag affliction in the 6th house. Sun has only 62 Bindi and the 9th house representing the father 18 Bindi in Sarvashtakavarga. Sun and Mercury are extremely week in SB and are in Papakartari Yoga in Navamsha between Sa and Mars. So I was asking her about the relation to the father, and weather the father had a very difficult life. She answered that the father hung himself after being a serious alcoholic and his wife (her Mother) had all sorts of illicit relations. She found the father at the age of around 4 and had a long lasting shock from that. She still keeps talking to him why he had left her alone. Then we see the Moon as equally afflicted with exception of Mars affliction. 100 bindi. But Mars in Maha-Parivartana Yoga with Saturn causes Nicha Bhanga Raja Yoga for the Moon. He is also in Kendra to the Moon. This brings big financial gains enjoyment and good status. This is confirmed by Alpayu Yaga with all benefic and all malefics in Kendras. She is very successful and wealthy. This is why I do not see Mars as such a bad planet. He is 3rd and 10th lord and 9th lord in Navamsha. On the other side is Mars one of the main Karakas for the head. The Mother had not the patience to bring up the kids (1 Brother) and gave the boy to her mother/ grandmother and the girl to an uncle. Both were growing up without seeing the mother for many years. The Native has been to hundreds of healers and psychiatrists all her life. Since very short her mother seems to fall into a depression in realizing what she has done and tries to reconnect to the daughter. This correlates with the beginning of Narayana D1 of Scorpio. Dear Chandrashekharji, I understand the logic in the Mahamrityunjaya but with all due respect do not understand the strengthening of Venus with a Diamond. As we know the Badhag Planet is causing a lot of havoc and his aspect to Scorpio and Cancer would intensify the problem. Dear Ramadas Rao could you please give me a reasoning for the Mantras given by you. She had Migraines all her life but never as intense as now. This qualifies that the reading of Rasi drishti is accurate. It is permanent active and just now intensifies due to other factors. Yes she has problems with breathing and a permanent feeling of not getting enough air. The knees are ok and look very attractive. She is very pretty anyway. Probably due to Jupiter aspect and Venus in own sign in Taurus. But her digestion is all over the place. There is no consistency what so ever and she is suffering a permanent eruction/ belching. 6th house digestion. She told me that she has total panic from water and would not go deeper then her feet into the ocean or a lake and never has been on a boat. Since Saturn the Kharesh and Mercury the Mandipati are not involved here, I would not give much weightage to Badhaka effects of Venus. Being Yogakaraka he would give good results. Venus is seriously aflicted by Ketu, which resulted in her mother giving her away. It is he who needs to be strengthened for her to become happyv which, with bouts of migraine she certainly not. Note that in Navamsha Venus is debilitated. With her Moon also being afflicted, I would think the bouts of Migraine have more to do with her mental state than only at physical plane. Job/profession related uncertainities or frequent changes in work could also be one of the factors involved in her attacks. Observe Lord of Buddhi (intelligence) sthana Mercury being in his enemy Moon's Rasi in 6th and severe affliction to Moon, coupled with afflicted Lord of 9th. Though Sun is in a bad position, he is lord of the 7th and would create problems in her Marital life, besides indicating the area of physical manifestation of affliction to the 6th house. Could you please give me the reference in Jataka Parijata to find the said? I have only the Bookshelf version but would be happy to see and read this statement. In all my observations I have found the Badhag as a very difficult planet which can cause serious conflicts especially in respect to relationship. On the other side I would be happy to believe this, as Venus seems to be the only planet in this Horoscope to help. At least in Rasi. If you do not mind I will send in a next mail a little later my observations to the D6 and D30 for correction. Thank you so much for your time. [Hari] When we talk of curses in a chart, there must be graha dristi by at least two malefics on the four benefics Ju, Me, Ve & Mo in that order. If there is more than one curse, then the curse on the greatest benefic furnishes the primary curse. And in the list of malefics: Sa (sorrow), Ra (shock), Ma (anger), Sun (ego) & Ketu (mistake), it is Sa who is the greatest malefic. Just to check the validity of this principle, note that Saturn Moola dasa ran from July 1971 to July 1981 and ask the native how was this period for her. Now Venus Moola dasa is currently in operation and Venus happens to be the AK as well. [Hari] As Chandrasekhar has opined, for the badhak to act as a stumbling stone, there must be other conditions for it to fulfill this particular role. Some such conditions are if the badhak is also with Gulika and Mandi or with the lord of the house tenanted by Gk and Mn. Or if the badhak has any connection with the lord of the 22nd drekkana or 64th navamsa. My limited experience is that if the badhak is also conjoined or aspected by malefics (both natural & functional) then it has the potential to act and should not be ruled out. Yesterday, by a sheer coincidence, I was discussing with Sarajit about Prasna Marga and Sarajit mentioned that he had compiled some of the principles on the interpretation of the houses. Let us try to go once again in a step-by-step manner to understand the reason why she has such paranoid anxieties & migraines. (a) first, note that both lagna co-lords are in the 10th house of Sc with debilitated Moon. So this becomes the paka lagna and shows how the intelligence will be applied in the life of the native. (b) Examining the relationship among the three planets, Moon is in debilitation sign while Rahu eclipses the luminaries and Saturn is the enemy of Moon. Also Rahu is the karaka for phobias (fear in general) while Saturn rules deep sorrow. Apply these principles to deduce that the applied intelligence perceives a lot of fear and sorrow. Moon is also the karaka for mind...what a combination! The good thing is that these planets are not closely conjunct else the degree of severity would increase. © Next note that the dispositors of this combination are Ketu and Mars. Ketu aspects Sc protecting the house to some extent while the other dispositor is in lagna. Now as lord of 10th, it is good. As lord of Aries, it is good as pointed out earlier. But as a malefic in lagna, it is not good and can give problems with the intelligence (head) to the extent of migraines. Recall the dictum that malefics in kendra can give rise to sarpa yoga. So we find malefics in 1, 4 & 10. The intensity is broken by Ju in 7th. (d) While we can go on to D-6 and D-30, not to mention D-60 (I went there to check the phobia for water: Bulls eye! Moon and Ju in 3rd from AL in Cp showing death due to some aquatic creatures in the past life thus creating the extreme aversion to any body of water), permit me to change gears and take recourse to Jaimini sutras. From 1.2.2 to 1.2.13 and a look at the navamsa of Venus, we find that Virgo navamsa indicates troubles from fires, weight problems, skin infections etc. Why Venus? because it is not only the AK but also badhakesh for Aq lagna but more importantly, Venus Moola dasa is also running. Of course as badhakesh, it will show physical problems and thus is it any surprise that the native is also experiencing weight problems due to the severity of migraines? Thus it is pretty clear that the solution lies in a remedy for Venus. But I would not go for a diamond as suggested by Shri Chandrasekhar because you very rightly point out that this could aggravate the badhakesh problems. Instead I would go for the mantras suggested by Ramadas and me. Please note that the mantras given by Shri Ramadas Rao are not on the basis of the chart but specific remedies for migraine (symptomatic diagnosis). It is a very frustrating case as of those interwoven inflictions. I do not have a lot of experience with different Dasas. I was concentrating on the Vimshottary and Narayana so far with increasing good results. I see your point with the Venus Moola Dasa and understand the implications you describe. But Ketu will take the Power of Venus and therefore create a Yoga for abstinence. Ketu takes away the discriminative skill from Mercury. Ketu will always take away the powers of the most beneficial planet he conjoins. So in this case will he not take away the healing powers of Venus? If we look at the Schoola Dasa (troubles and death): Cn MD: 2001-07-19 (10:49:37) - 2010-07-19 (18:05:07) Sc AD: 2004-07-19 (05:18:23) - 2005-04-16 (19:11:15) This is describing the problem seen from the 2 inflicted watery houses Scorpio and Cancer. If we see this in respect to the Arta trikona, 6th and 10th house, and in respect to earning ones living, we can derive from that financial pressure and problems in respect to earnings causing this intensification? 6th house are self inflicted health issues. Stress is usually self inflicted. So reduction of stress and work could help as well as a better time management and reduction of unnecessary actions. (Just looking for worldly remedies to alleviate some portion of the problem) 5th Lord involvement could explain that all kids have now left home and the mother is first time alone with the husband. All Kids have moved overseas and far away. 7th Lord involvement makes Shri Chandrashekhar’s suggestion of Spouse tensions a contributing factor as well. I do not see a clear indication for migraines in the D6 except the debilitated Sun closely conjoined with exalted 8th lord Saturn but will continue to search.
