Guest guest
Srimad Sankarabhagavatpadebhyo Namah Dear Saji Just wanted to clarify on one aspect. His Holiness Jagadguru Narasimha Bharati Swamigal was born in 1797 according to Sringeri Mutt. His Holiness was born in Pingala varsha, Month of Karthikai, Sukla Chaturdasi in the birth star of Aswini, as per their records. His Holiness Narasimha Bharati Swamigal's ascension to the Sringeri Peetam has an interesting background. The date of Mar 11, 1858 that you have given, corresponds to His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Sivaabhinava Narasimha Bharati Swamigal (the 33rd Peetadipathi) who was the Guru of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekara Bharathi Swamigal. These Acharyas were great Jagadgurus of their times and have made immense contributions. Adi Sankara's date: There has been total disagreement among Sankara Mathas on Sri Adi Sankara's date. Kanchi records show date of Sri Sankara Bhagavatpada to be 509-477 BC. The research has stunning and supporting evidence. A chart has also been re-constructed for Him to have been born in the constellation of Punarvasu in 2631 Yudhisthira Saka which corresponds to 2593 Kali i.e. 509 B.C., but without a date, based on Chitsukha's Brhat Sankara Vijaya. Position of Rahu and Ketu are also missing. Let's hope to have some clarity that we can do more research. Best wishes R. Kasthuri Rangan p.s: The website for Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam is www.kamakoti.org. The official webite for Sringeri Peetam is www.sringeri.org, but is still under construction. > Thu, 04 Nov 2004 10:27:45 -0000 > " saaji kulangara " <saajik > Re: Birthtime for Shankaracharyas > > > Om Subrahmanyaya Namah > > Namaste, > > I have the following charts with me: > > 1) Swami Chandrasekhara Saraswati > May 20, 1894 13.22 79E32 11N57 +5.30 > 2) Swami Jayendra Saraswati > Jul 18, 1935 19.00 79E26 10N42 > 3) Swami Narasimha Bharati > Mar 11, 1858 21.10 78E00 13N00 > 4) Swami Sivananda > Sep 8, 1887 4.16 LMT 77e40 8N48 > 5) Swami Vidyaranya > Apr 11, 1296 10.58 PM LMT 15N 77E > > They were all Sankaracharyas.
